Do you know why you’re so fascinated with my tie?” he asked huskily, his eyes pinned on her. He practically fucked her with his gaze. His was so intense. His confidence set her on fire. It torched a path across her body, sizzling her skin.“Tell me,” she said, eager for more of his words. “Since you seem to know me so well. Tell me.”
He brushed the backs of his fingers against her cheek. Oh god, she was dying for him to kiss her. She was so eager to feel those lips. To taste him.
He grasped a wrist with one hand, yanking it up his chest, and loosely wrapping the end of his tie around her hand. “You want me to tie you up.”
“How do you know that?” she asked, her voice stripped to the bones. He knew her. He read her. He could sense everything she wanted. He crowded her against the wall. Heaven Leigh belted out her song on stage. The inky black of the backstage cloaked them.
“Am I wrong?” he asked, arching an eyebrow. “If I’m wrong, tell me and I’ll walk away.”
She shook her head. “Are you going to take it off? Tie me up?” she asked in a voice that barely sounded like it belonged to her. It belonged to the part of her that had been untended for years.
He grinned wickedly. “No. I have other ways to tie you up,” he said, and in a flash, he gripped her wrists in his big strong hands, wrapping his fingers around her, binding her as he yanked her hands behind her back. Heat flared in her body, spinning through her, settling between her legs. Her gorgeous, sexy panties were so damp right now they were useless.
She ached for his touch. And she could do nothing but wait for it since she was his hostage.
He was so strong, she couldn’t wriggle away if she wanted to. His thumbs dug into her wrist bones, pinning her hands above her ass, rendering her helpless. The pressure from the twist in her arms bordered on pain, and felt oh so good.
His body was aligned with hers. There was no space between the two of them. Only breath. Only words as he spoke in a bare, husky voice, “Do you know what else I’ve been thinking about all day?”
She shook her head.
He inched closer, his mouth mere centimeters from hers. Her lips parted, so ready for him. God, she needed him to kiss her. Needed it badly. He was making her wait for it. Making her nearly ask for it. His mouth hovered so close she wanted to dart out her tongue and lick him. Draw him to her. His forehead brushed hers, and her breath fluttered.
Somehow, she managed a please.
“Please kiss you?” he asked. “Is that what you want me to do?”
She nodded, too turned on to form another word. Even a yes.
“That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking about all day,” he whispered.
Then he kissed her and he wasn’t gentle. He wasn’t sweet. He was rough as he claimed her mouth, kissing hard. She moaned as he drew her bottom lip between his teeth, then fused his mouth to hers.
His stubble rubbed against her cheek. She’d have whisker burn later. She longed for the redness, the proof, the evidence of a bruising kiss.
The kiss lit her up. She felt it everywhere. In her toes, in her hair, in her belly.
And, deliciously, between her legs.
Where she ached for him. She angled her hips closer as he kissed, desperately seeking contact from him. God, how she wanted him. And she didn’t even know his name.

When her older brother leaves the Black Hills to go to college, Tala Graystone stays behind, determined to restore their dilapidated home into a B&B for the pack. As more people return to the area, the need for temporary housing increases. Now, if only she can find someone to help with the heavy lifting.
Yas Collins fled Los Lobos as a child with his mother. As he struggles with his wolf and overpowering shifts, a desire for nature and the forest strikes hard. Black Hills, South Dakota, beckons him. With a background in construction, he easily finds work at Tala’s dilapidated B&B, but not everyone in town greets him with open arms.
As the remodel gets underway, Tala and Yas fight their growing attraction. Yas doesn’t trust his wolf urges around beautiful B&B owner. The she-wolf, however, has other plans.
“How’s it going out here?” She surveyed the work he’d done so far.
“Faster than I thought. When you work on a project, it can be easy or slow. With a newer covering, it might take longer to remove. This paint’s so old, it’s coming off like dust.”
The speckles on his arms and face reinforced his statement, and she stifled a laugh. “I can see that. Have you been frolicking through all that ‘dust’?”
“What?” He checked out his spotted arms. “Just what I need, to be even whiter than I already am. It should all come off in the shower.”
“Mmmm-hmmm, and you better get cleaned up first thing. I don’t want all that getting in the house.”
“Yes, ma’am.” He saluted and took a long draw of lemonade. His mouth puckered up, and his eyes crossed. “Wow. Sour.”
“I hope you’re exaggerating. It’s better than being too sweet.”
“Here, taste.” He stood, took another sip, and then pulled her tight to his body. The heat radiated off his skin, and he pressed his cool lips against hers.
Shocked by his actions, Tala didn’t react. She took in all the elements. The feel of his body. The enticing scent coming off his skin, appropriately like smoldering wood. Soon, she grew more aware of the weight of Yas’s arm on her waist and the insistence of his kiss.
She parted her mouth, tentatively touching her tongue along his bottom lip. He tasted tangy and refreshing. He deepened the kiss, drawing out her tongue, until they breathed the same air.
Everything changed with this one liplock. It was as if she’d never been kissed before, and never would feel this same way again. He, they, this moment became the center of her being. Everything else fell away.
The air between them made her realize the kiss had ended.
“So?” he asked, prodding her with more than his words.
She opened her eyes, recognizing a bit of mirth in his.
“How does it taste?”
She smacked her lips together. “Exactly how I like it.”
A Southern California native, Louisa Bacio can’t imagine living far away from the ocean. The multi-published author of erotic romance enjoys writing within all realms – from short stories to full-length novels.
She shares her household with a supportive husband, two daughters growing “too fast,” and a multitude pet craziness: Two dogs, five fish tanks, an aviary, hamsters, rabbits and hermit crabs. In her other life, she teaches college classes in English, journalism and popular culture.
Heat settled in his eyes when he looked at her. He closed the distance between them and wrapped an arm around her side, drawing her into a half embrace. She hid her grimace in his shoulder and inhaled his scent. She surrendered to the weakness in her limbs and leaned into his strength.
“Fuck, sweetheart. I was an ass.” His hot breath fanned her earlobe and she shivered as a trill of pleasure swept through her. “Seeing that place and knowing you were there, suffering and defenseless, did something to me. Adding Deimos into the mix awakened my wolf, made me snarl and spew shit I shouldn’t have.”
“I wanted to share more about him with you, but I made a promise. He didn’t want anyone to know about him, the fact he was a Paraspecies,” she whispered as she pulled back to look up at him. Warmth settled in her belly and fluttered southward into a splay of tingles that made her legs weaken for an entirely different reason. “I missed you.”
He squeezed her waist and drew her forward until all she inhaled was him. Her pulse quickened. “I’m thinking we need some alone time, sweetheart.”
“Can you get away? Is it safe enough?”
He feathered her lips with a kiss. “I’ll always keep you safe. They’ll never touch you again.”
Then all the real fun begins. I love this world, and the way we are introduced to it. The beginning of the book introduces us to the terms we will see throughout this book and future ones. The characters are very diverse yet all bound to the quest of a secure future for not only the paraspecies but the Impures as well.
I am looking forward to more of this series.
5 Contented Purrs for Cara!
Redemption’s Forgiveness (The Rending, Book 2) is in the most excellent collection Romancing the Wolf .
Oh how I love this series. This is Sable and Jared’s story and it couldn’t be more intense if it tried.
Savannah and Felix are coming for their daughter. Sable has made a deal with the Council to destroy her parents and end the escalating war, in exchange for a pardon.
Jared is opposed to this idea but knows he must go with her. She is his fated mate and he must bring her back alive to their son.
Being near each other without restoring the mating bond is painful for both of them. Sable knows how to kill her father, but needs to find Savannah’s weakness to defeat her.
Savannah is searching for Sable and has a new mutant tracker. The question is, does Sable, with Jared, have the magical strength to defeat her.
A fast paced story with lots of emotion and turmoil. I love the way we see the growth of the characters in each progressing story. I look forward to seeing more of this diverse pack.

Jesse Johnson is a man everyone assumes will be a general. Everyone, that is, but Jesse himself. He isn’t sure if he wants to give that much to the military. His father has spent most of his life surviving a lonely existence with only his work for comfort. Jesse doesn’t want that—he wants it all.
The woman who tempts him to misbehave.
The last year has been bad for Zoe Jones. Her boyfriend was killed by some nasty guys who then put her in the hospital. She’s come to Virginia to heal not to fall for some by the book, drop dead gorgeous Marine with a chip on his shoulder. But one little encounter leads to a kiss and that kiss leads to all kinds of interesting entanglements. She knows it won’t last because he has big plans, but she can’t help but falling a little in love with him.>
A Marine on a mission.
Jesse knows Zoe thinks they’re just having a bit of fun, but he has other plans. Forever kind of plans. He’s one man who knows how to organize a full on assault to get the woman he loves—and nothing will stop him.
I have to admit I have not read Tease Me – Book 1 of this series, but this one has me wanting to sit down and do just that followed by the rest, and all her Santini books too.
This is a story of healing and moving on.
Zoe Jones is ready to be released from the hospital and has been shanghaied by Joey Santini, her brother-in-law’s mother. While there, Joey arranges a dinner to which she invites Jessie Johnson, a Marine working at the pentagon and friend of the family.
I have to admit that the dinner conversation had me giggling like a school girl. Part of that is a favorite scene.
By the end of the meal, Jesse was sure he could take even the most subtle of hints. Of course, Joey wasn’t being subtle at all, so, knowing the woman like he did, he decided to do what she wanted. As they settled back drinking coffee and eating some amazing layered dessert, he decided to take the plunge.
“Have you seen much of DC before, Zoe?”
She shook her head. “I’ve only been here once. I guess I’ll be up here more often if Gee and Kianna decide to retire here. They’ve been talking about it. Although, I’m not sure she wants to leave Valdosta State.”
Kianna was a professor in the small Georgia town where Gee was stationed.
“So, since Joey isn’t going to let it go, why don’t you come out this week with me?”
“That is the rudest thing. And at my table,” Joey said, but he knew she wasn’t that mad. Papa just laughed.
That sparkle returned to her eyes. “If I don’t say yes, she’ll probably yell at me later.” Jesse nodded. “And I was taking some time off this week. I missed the blossom festival because I was in San Antonio for work, but it’s still pretty. Why don’t we get together and go see the monuments.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“There, are you happy?” he asked Joey.
“You are incorrigible.”
“I have to disagree with you there. Leo is kind of a pain in the arse, or so says Vince.” Zoe laughed. “Vince says that about all of them. See, you’re the oldest, just like him, so you think all of us younger siblings are idiots.”
He considered that with mocking deliberation. “But you are.”
“Maybe now I should tell Joey I don’t want to go to the monuments with you.”
He chuckled. “No, that’s one thing I don’t want to deal with. She’ll blame me.”
Joey looked from him to Zoe then back to him again. “I am sitting right here. You two are worse than my own children.”
Zoe laughed. It was the first genuine laugh he had heard from her since he came to the house. It bubbled up out of her and made him smile.
The dinner party begins a series of dates and a relationship they both will have to figure out. A lighthearted read with some sizzling sex and a couple of twists.
Five Contented Purrs for Melissa!
From an early age, Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.
Since the publication of her first book in 2004, Melissa has had over fifty romances published. She writes in genres from historical suspense to modern day erotic romance to futuristics and paranormals. Included in those releases is the bestselling Harmless series and her USA Today Bestselling series The Santinis.. Along the way she has garnered an epic nomination, a multitude of reviewer’s recommended reads, over five Capa nods from TRS, eleven nominations for AAD Bookies and regularly tops the best seller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Since she spent her childhood as a military brat, Melissa swore never to marry military. But, as we all know, Fate has her way with mortals. She is married to an AF major and is raising her own brats, both human and canine. She spends her days giving in to her addiction to Twitter, counting down the days until her hubby retires, and cursing the military for always sticking them in a location that is filled with bugs big enough to eat her children.
Christophe Roux has always known he was different. Born to a wealthy French family, he has never told anyone that he is frequently thrown through time and space to visit with ghosts and other terrifying creatures. But now he knows he is an Outsider and moreover that he has a soul mate somewhere out in the world waiting for him. When his brother is taken, he heads to Maine to search for help, never expecting that his love is the woman he has lusted after for years.
Ruby Brannon lived her childhood on the run and her adulthood trying to make sense of the strange things that happen to her. Now, she’s with the Outsiders but she is still unsure if she’ll be able to step up when it’s her turn to fight the evil seeking to destroy them all.
Together, Ruby and Christophe will change the fates of the Outsiders. Or die trying.
She had no idea what happened; the only thing she felt certain about was that she had not caused the moving through space. That had to be Christophe…or some other Outsider. Or, god forbid, Sebastian…
“It’s okay.” Christophe sounded downright giddy as he squeezed her shoulders. “We moved through space to”—he looked left and right—”a bedroom. I don’t know whose it is but someone’s bedroom.”
Looking around, she laughed, wondering if she sounded like a lunatic. “It’s my room. In the mansion.”
“I moved us.” Why did he sound so happy? “Together. And I pretty much controlled it myself. I spoke aloud, and then I got to go to where I said I needed to go. That never happens. I’m always pulled out on a whim. No control.”
“That’s great.” She had to calm down. How did Christophe manage this on a regular basis? Her powers let her acquire weird objects, not bang in and out of places in swirls of nothingness with no warning. The key she held in her hand burned, and she looked down at it. Why did it hurt her? She held it up so Christophe could inspect it.
“Does this look like anything weird to you? It’s warming in my hand, almost painfully.”
“Hand it over.”
She gladly placed the object in the center of his palm. He curved his fingers around the key. “Feels cool to me, like the weather outside.”
“It’s burning my fingers when I touch it.”
Christophe entwined their hands. “Your skin doesn’t seem hot.” “Are you suggesting I’m imagining it?” She bit down on the inside of her cheek. She really, really hated it when people doubted her experiences. It had been bad enough when she had been young and her grandparents had insisted the things she thought happened to her hadn’t occurred.
“No, sweetheart.” He stroked a piece of her hair off her face. “Don’t get all worked up. I’m simply saying I can’t feel it. In the midst of all this lunacy, you think I question whether or not you can feel something I can’t?” All right, now he turned out to be reasonable when she wanted to act just the opposite.
“Christophe, I feel like I’m losing my mind.”
He stroked her hair, making her shiver. “I know. There’s a lot going on right now.”
Love Beyond Time | Love Beyond Sanity
Love Beyond Loyalty | Love Beyond Sight
As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.
I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. I live in Austin Texas where I am determined to eat all the barbecue in town.
I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I’ve been told I’m a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.
In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.
I’d love to hear from you!
Cheers!!

Someone is killing conductors on the Underground Railroad. With a cellar full of runaway slaves, Olivia June Mathieson must decide whether the handsome Fenton Pierce-Smythe is savior or traitor. Both Fenton Pierce-Smythe’s fiancée and grandfather were killed when runaway slaves spooked their horses. Determined no one else will face that pain, Fenton hunts runaways to return them safely to their owners. But can he remain unmoved by their plight and unaffected by the beautiful woman who risks her life to lead them to freedom?
I love all manners and forms of Romance and Historical was one of the first I read in my younger days. You know the ones I mean, the bodice rippers. This book is rich in history and exquisitely detailed. Not at all like those books of yore.
This book was a gift from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
After a chance meeting and a kiss in the rain, Olivia never expected to see the man who assisted her free the carriage from the mud again. Fate however, had other ideas. Fenton Pierce-Smythe shows up for dinner with her father. He is quite pleasantly surprised to see her again, not knowing he would have some interesting decisions to make.
Fenton is practically engaged and full of indignation that his Grandmere has to live with them because his father stopped helping her financially. He comes up with a plan to find runaway slaves and collect the bounties to save her home and business.
Olivia is full of life and is fighting for a cause, one that could lead to her being imprisoned or worse, killed, she is a conductor for the underground railroad.
Fenton’s initial run with his ship was turned into a leg of the underground when he finds that Olivia never left the ship, which was probably a good thing since a mob showed up on the docks.
I loved this story, the intensity of the era is brought forth in every word. The build of the relationship between Fenton and Olivia is perfect, an exquisite tension that eventually explodes.
This was Ms. Bond’s first book and I look forward to reading more from her.
Five Contented Purrs for this book.
Patricia Bond
Ever since her first encounter with a long hooped skirt gown at age 5, Ms. Bond fell in love with the style. Her love of historical romance began a bit later, when she discovered Gladys Malvern’s books and scoured the public library for every one she could find. Reading Gone With the Wind as a teenager cemented her suspicion that she was born about 100 years too late. She daydreamed about writing novels but knew it was beyond her ability at that time. Instead, she tried her hand at poetry and really bad iambic pentameter flowed from her fingers. Thankfully, for the world at large, it was a short-lived obsession.
After attending an all-girl high school run by nuns, she enrolled in a local men’s college that had just opened its doors to women. (A Libra, she understands the need for balance.) She earned her B.A. in English, and met her future husband there. Many years, four children and a grandchild later, the man who made her see fireworks with the first kiss is still her go-to research assistant for all things romantic.
The desire to write books never left, even as she worked selling property and casualty insurance, Avon, and craft kits. She sold luggage at a local department store to earn the money to attend her first RWA national conference and finally feels safe enough to admit to hiding a legal pad under her counter where she wrote scenes in between customers. She still does much of her writing longhand. (100 years too late, remember?)
RWA is the best thing to happen to her writing career, teaching the art as well as the craft of writing. It also brought her together with four of the most amazing women she’s ever known – critique partners and friends. Special thanks and much love to Helen, Karen, Carol and Jan.
