A murderer strikes Los Lobos…

Heartbreak and hardship have returned to the Taos pack. Even though survival is a rote course for Dani, a woman can only handle so much. Her brother’s mate has been murdered and he’s missing. The pack Alpha was left for dead at the scene. Oh, and her ex-lover has been tasked with finding her brother.

Thane returned to make things right with the healing pack and the female he left behind. Leaving had been the only option that kept Dani safe. Now he’s back and not about to let her or the pack down again. Despite the tense situation, his wolf refuses to ignore the woman determined to “help” find her estranged brother. One way or another, she’d be his.

Winter Blog Review

This book was a gift in exchange for a fair and honest review

I love the Black Hills Wolves and have been following as Drew Tao takes his place as Alpha and begins to built a real pack. One of strength, honor and family.

As much as I hate to admit it, something like this had to happen sooner or later. Murder is hard on a pack but when Drew is also shot and in a coma, Ryker steps up as an enforcer should. Wielding his dominance and grabbing the best of the Dominant wolves to aid in the investigation. First, track down the wolf mate of the dead human.

Dani knows her brother couldn’t have killed Sonya he loved her more than life, she was his world. She can’t let the enforcer hurt her brother, he must be mad with grief. To top it off the enforcer not only enlisted her ex-lover Thane to help, but ordered her home.

We all know how well that went over with a determined female, let alone a female wolf.

Thane knows Dani is his mate, but he left to get away from Magnum and the things he had to do for that Alpha. He has some explaining to do, but first he has to find Charlie and bring him back to Ryker for questioning.

As if murder wasn’t enough, there are intruders as well on the edges of pack land. Wolf trespassers and humans.

Distraction is the last thing Thane needs but he seems to get it in spades. Dani can be quite the innocent nuisance. Lots of pent up anger and lust wrapped up in danger and sorrow.

I laughed and cried and bit my fingernails…I LOVE THESE WOLVES!

Now don’t get upset, this is a cliff hanger, but not too bad of one. There are three more books in this mini-series within the series.

Winter Blog Review

This book was a gift in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book opens with a smoking hot sex scene with Sofie and her husband that quickly becomes ice-cold, with the non-apologetic appearance of his assistant/lover announcing his intent to divorce her.

Sophie walks away and doesn’t look back as she starts over as a counsellor at Nirvana. This story takes place during the ranch’s down time and with things so quiet thoughts run to possibility of romance. Sophie does make a mistake right at the beginning with Chase (her boss). An innocent kiss led her to think maybe there could be more. However he really wasn’t interested in her that way. The point proven when she knocks on his door with a bottler of wine to share and Kaylee opens it.

Embarrassed, she heads for the lounge to be alone and drink her wine. Unfortunately Jared was there. Jared is a sexy looking man, rough in all the good ways, but he exhibits (at least in her mind) many of the bad traits of her ex.

An attempt at conversation, a minor accident, and a hot tub lead to a very hot and steamy night in the bedroom for Sophie and Jared. One that neither of them can forget even while going about their jobs the next day.

Keeping a smoking hot relationship a secret is never easy and when you work together it is even harder. Someone always ends up hurt in one way or another.

Sophie and Jared have to face their own demons. Be it together or apart.

Lots of hot sex in this one, lots of pain and laughter too.

Winter Blog Review

This book was a gift from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

When last we saw Cassidy she had run away to handle a family emergency. Baffled Shaw needs to know why she left and handed him the contract she worked so hard for. This is how he finds himself on a Maine road in the middle of nowhere yelling at Siri.

I really love the way this story develops. Cassidy’s first love and best friend Casey is very much in the picture in her hometown. He is helping an author (Mia) with research for a romance novel that involves lobstermen.

Shaw first makes friends with Abby Casey’s mom who “adopts” him.  Casey acts the typical jealous boyfriend, but he really isn’t Cassidy’s, not anymore.

The time Casey spends with Mia seems more than just book research. While Cassidy feels kind of betrayed by that, she also knows she has to re-evaluate her feelings toward him and Shaw. A complex relationships at best.

A hurricane is the catalyst in this story for everyone. The emotions every bit as turbulent as the storm. The aftermath, a true showing of small town life.

I did a lot of laughing, a bit of crying and had to hydrate a lot. The sex was as always sizzling hot.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series to see where life leads these richly diverse characters.

David Cruz is good at two things: war and training dogs. The ex-soldier’s toughest case is Atlas, a Belgian Malinois whose handler died in combat. Nobody at Hope’s Crossing kennel can break through the animal’s grief. That is, until dog whisperer Evelyn Jones walks into the facility . . . and into Atlas’s heart. David hates to admit that the curvy blonde’s mesmerizing effect isn’t limited to canines. But when Lyn’s work with Atlas puts her in danger, David will do anything to protect her.

Lyn realizes that David’s own battle scars make him uniquely qualified for his job as a trainer. Tough as nails yet gentle when it counts, he’s gotten closer to Atlas than anyone else-and he’s willing to put his hard-wired suspicion aside to let her do the same. But someone desperate enough to kill doesn’t want Lyn working with Atlas. Now only teamwork, trust, and courage can save two troubled hearts and the dog who loves them both . . .

Winter Blog Review

This book was a gift from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book has everything you could want in a military romance. You have your hot ex-military trainers, a determined female “dog-whisperer”, and a military dog named Atlas.  Atlas, is really the star of this book and I loved every single second.

Atlas’ handler Callhoun died under suspicious circumstances that was labeled accidental friendly fire. As a result Atlas has PTSD and severe depression. Now before you start on me, dogs can and do feel emotions as deeply as we humans do and its just as hard if not harder to break through to them.

Atlas is grieving, he is only responding to commands by rote. He really doesn’t want to do anything. Not eat, not play, nothing. My heart breaks for him, he has lost so much more than just a handler he lost his partner, his friend, his family.

Sent to Hope’s Crossing kennel to his original trainer David Cruz for rehabilitation, Atlas is also assigned a civilian trainer by the Pentagon, Evelyn (Lyn)Jones.

Things start going awry right from the start. A minor security breach at the kennel causes David to confront Lyn at her hotel. Only he doesn’t get to confront her, but stop an attack on her.

Thus begins a relationship that David isn’t sure he wants, but he sure wants a taste. One of my favorite scenes is after an attack and he is tending to a scrape on Lyn’s wrist with Atlas watching the whole interaction.

He leaned toward her, focused on her plump lip caught under her teeth.

  “What else do you like?”

She opened her mouth to answer but he didn’t plan to let her get a word out. Maybe later. He bent his head to capture her lips.

And seventy-five pounds of fur jumped up on his side.

  “The hell?”

  Lyn gasped. “Atlas!”

“Af.” Mindful of the dog’s injury, Cruz gave Atlas a gentle shove.

The dog dropped back to all fours, his tongue lolling. Looking from him to Lyn and back again, Atlas lay back down on his belly.

  Jealous. Damn dog was jealous.

There is lots of action, fun and some sizzling sex sprinkled throughout the suspense.  A thoroughly enjoyable page turner.

Release Day Tour for Becky McGraw’s Hell Bent – Deep Six Security 3

Winter Blog Blurb

When you leave home to find yourself, sometimes the best place to look first is there…

Former Delta Force Operator turned CIA Ghost Ops Operative Cade Winters has been dodging his dysfunctional family for years. He isn’t supposed to have a family, it’s too dangerous, but Cade can’t let go of the only person he gives a shit about, his sister Veronica. When he makes his yearly call to her and finds out she’s receiving death threats from a homegrown terrorist group, Cade knows he has no choice but to go back to Texas to make sure she’s safe.

Fresh out of a six-year hitch in the Army, Cee Cee Logan thinks she’s finally earned her brother David’s respect when he finally offers her a job with his security firm. She quickly sees that isn’t the case when the job she’s hired for turns out to be that of the team secretary, a nice safe, desk job like he told her to get when she graduated college. Cecelia is frustrated, but takes the position because she is determined to prove to her chauvinistic and overprotective sibling once and for all she’s capable of so much more.

By the end of the first week, Cee Cee wishes she’d have just re-enlisted. Her body is stiff from sitting, her fingers sore and her mind numb, but what really makes her want to run back to Afghanistan where she would at least be respected by her colleagues is the company’s other new hire. Cade Winters, her ex-lover, is back in town and the hardhearted, hard-bodied operator is a man she definitely doesn’t know anymore.

When a trafficked woman’s repatriation clinic is bombed, and Cade’s sister Veronica, a judge, is in grave danger, Cecelia is presented with her opportunity to prove herself as an agent. But the question was, did she want it? Could she trust her partner to have her back when he seemed to be on a mission of his own to make her look bad every chance he got?

Winter Blog Review

Once again Becky McGraw has taken a topic that is very hard to think about, and turned it into a page turning novel of strength and courage.

At first glance one might want to blame Cee Cee for the way she is being treated at Deep Six Security. However as this tale unfurls I found she is not the only one with childish notions. Cade, Dave and the rest of the crew all need to realize she is a grown-up, with military training.

With threats against his sister Veronica and the repatriation shelter she runs that houses women rescued from a trafficking ring; Cade has no choice but to protect her. Things get more complicated when they realize that not only are the threats coming from a homegrown terrorist group, but also the cartel wanting their property back.

In the middle of all that, Cee Cee and Cade have to deal with their own attraction. This relationship once in the past needs major evaluation now. One thing is for sure, the sex is spectacular, but there needs to be more for both of them.

The action doesn’t stop in this one, bombings, kidnapping, paternity and more. Be it the investigations, or the bedroom, you won’t be able to put this book down until the last page is done.

Winter Blog excerpt

18+ Excerpt from HELL BENT: Deep Six Security Book 3 (c) Becky McGraw, January 2016

“If you’d have talked to me before you lef—“ he started, but her sharp bark of laughter cut him off and he shot her a hot glare.

“I did come to talk to you but figured you weren’t much into talking or listening to anything I had to say with that brunette’s lips wrapped around your dick,” Cee Cee snarled, a brow lifted over her angry, hurt eyes.

A shock of electricity shot through his body to boil his blood which crept up to the base of his throat as memories of that night, the last time he’d seen her, flashed through his mind. He cringed, and his hands tightened on the steering wheel.

That night he’d been as cruel as he could be to her because he wanted to hurt her as much as she’d hurt him. Cade wanted to show her she didn’t mean an iota more to him than she’d proven he meant to her by leaving him dangling on a limb without an explanation or excuse for two fucking weeks. That she showed up on the night before the morning he knew she was leaving for boot camp, the absolute worst night of his life, made things worse. He couldn’t be held responsible for his actions or reactions that night.

“You broke into my apartment, and I was drunk,” he said defensively. And in so much fucking pain, neither the alcohol nor the hot, nameless woman sucking my dick could make it better.

“I didn’t break in, I had a key, remember? And thank God you were drunk enough to finally tell me how you really felt about me. You saved me a lot of future complications.” Her harsh laugh rang hollowly inside his skull. “It was a hard and painful lesson, but totally worth it. I learned not to trust a man with anything more than my body, or expect anything from him in return for a good fuck. Because I went in with that attitude, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to learn you were right—I am a damned good fuck—and the act is a lot more fun when satisfaction is all you expect in return. Sure makes things less messy in the morning, doesn’t it?”

Cade didn’t know what to say as his eyes flew to hers. The vulgarity falling from her soft lips made him want to wash her mouth out with soap for some reason. Blood crept up his face to set his scalp on fire, as the hard little smile that curved the corner her mouth, the knowing look in her eyes caused a tight band of regret to constrict his chest.

He had done this to her, turned her into this kind of woman. His hasty, drunken, and yes immature, words meant to hurt her had done so much more. They turned a soft-hearted girl into a one-night-stand kind of woman like the brunette.

Were you really naïve enough to believe I wanted more than a fuck, Brat? You were a good fuck to me, Cecelia, nothing more. Wise up about men—we’re only looking for one thing and you’re keeping me from getting that right now. Go away, little girl, I’m busy.

Pressure built in his skull and his breaths came hard and fast as he studied her, tried to find that girl he used to know somewhere in her eyes but failed. Cecelia’s chin lifted a notch as her arms tightened around her middle, before she leaned back against the seat and looked out the side window.

“You’re better than that, Brat.” God, so much better, and guilt for his hand in turning her into what she’d become closed off his throat, so his words were choked. “You may have gotten confidence in the military, but you sure lost any delicacy you may have possessed before, and that’s a damned shame.”

“No, I’m not delicate in the least anymore. You toughened me right up.” She looked at him with a lifted brow and a smirk curving one corner of her mouth. “I’ve become a woman not to be messed with and I thank you for starting that transformation, Cade.”

About LOVE IN THE LIGHT (Hearts in Darkness Duet #2):

Two hearts in the darkness…

Makenna James and Caden Grayson have been inseparable since the day they were trapped in a pitch-black elevator and found acceptance and love in the arms of a stranger. Makenna hopes that night put them on the path to forever—which can’t happen until she introduces her tattooed, pierced, and scarred boyfriend to her father and three over-protective brothers.

Must fight for love in the light…

Haunted by a childhood tragedy and the loss of his family, Caden never thought he’d find the love he shares with Makenna. But the deeper he falls, the more he fears the devastation sure to come if he ever lost her, too. When meeting her family doesn’t go smoothly, Caden questions whether Makenna deserves someone better, stronger, and just more…normal. Maybe they’re too different—and he’s far too damaged—after all…

Winter Blog excerpt

Makenna unbuttoned her jeans, pushed them down, and took them off altogether, leaving her standing there in an oversized, faded red and blue Penn sweatshirt that was just long enough to cover her panties. “You should get undressed, too,” she said, coming to Caden and starting on the buttons of his shirt. Press and release, press and release. Until she was pulling his shirt from his dress pants and exposing his skin.

She gave a little moan and kissed the center of his chest. “Just like unwrapping a present.” She trailed a line of kisses and licks from one nipple to the other.

“Fuck, Makenna,” he whispered. “What are you doing?”

“Tasting you,” she said.

The words were like a blowtorch to his blood. He was hard in an instant. “We can’t,” he said, though his hands went to the back of her head, encouraging her, guiding her as she continued to kiss and tease and drive him wild with her mouth.

“We can if we’re quiet.” Slowly, she dropped to her knees and bared him to mid-thigh. She took his cock in hand and gripped him firmly, tearing a soft grunt from his throat. “I’ve been wanting you all day,” she whispered, her lips teasing his head with soft kisses. “Wanting to touch you and kiss you and hold you. I can’t hold back anymore.” She licked him from root to tip. Once, twice, three times. And then she sucked him into her mouth.

It felt so fucking good that Caden’s hands flew to her hair, digging in, grabbing hold. She moaned at the contact and pushed herself deeper, burying his cock in the back of her throat. The intensity of it nearly took his knees out from underneath of him.

Makenna pulled off his length. “Lay down on the floor.”

He was too far gone to debate the wisdom of having sex in her father’s house. He needed this. He needed her. He needed the connection and the coming together of the act. Caden locked the door, took the rest of his clothes off, and spread himself out on the beige carpet.

She undressed, too, all that beautiful red hair spilling around the bare porcelain of her shoulders and making him think of peaches and cream. And, fuck, he was starving.

Caden grasped his length. “Take me back in your mouth.”

He didn’t have to ask twice. Makenna settled herself between his legs and wrapped her lips around his cock. She sucked him deep and slow, than fast and shallow, her baby blues flashing up at him so fucking sexy. He needed to see her eyes, so he fisted her hair into a ponytail to keep it out of her face. He used his grip to urge her harder, faster, deeper. He needed it. God, he needed it. And she took it. She took everything he gave her and so much more.

“Fuck, Red, I’m gonna come if you don’t stop,” he whispered.

She pulled off him, her lips shiny and swollen. “I want you inside me first,” she said, already crawling up his body.
