Winter Blog Review

If you haven’t read Scent of Murder go and read it now, I’ve been totally hooked. It is important to read these in order as each holds a relevant clue.

One of the first things Brogan scents is wildflowers, and the image it invokes for him is always the same. Natalie Gabbin his Gabby.  All he can think about with that scent wafting around him is her. Not good when he is supposed to be tracking a murderer.

On orders from Ryker, the pack enforcer, the pack gathered at Gee’s Bar for information about the murder and Drew’s condition.
Natalie Gabbin (Gabby) was among them, everyone was in shock. The feelings in the air were reminiscent of Magnum’s reign. Ryker offered no information and ordered everyone to go home and stay there until further notice. No one leaves pack land. As the crowd thinned, Gabby caught his scent and the feelings only Brogan could bring to the surface came to a boiling point. He was only a few feet away from her. I really loved her thoughts as Brogan leaned over her and ordered her home. Here are two small passages from this scene.
Gabby:
The rise of blush on her cheeks would be as impossible to hide as her aroused scent. For shit’s sake, Drew was in critical condition, Sonya dead, Charles missing, and she had been ready to use Brogan as her personal jungle gym. Home was definitely the place to be.

And a bit later Ryker to Brogan:
Ryker looked at him, his eyes intense, or, he thought, more intense than normal. His jaw tensed as he spoke. “Gabby isn’t my problem, and she wouldn’t be yours, either, if you would’ve taken what was yours years ago. I don’t have the time or inclination to deal with this Dear Abby shit.”

The hunt for this killer is hampered by so many other scents around. Brogan though, finds he will be following one scent and then it changes or disappears. A most confusing development.

Brogan and Gabby have a lot of history and they have much to work out. Gabby isn’t going to make anything easy for him and vise versa. When Sarah another human mate is found dead, and Gabby inadvertently discovers her mate Embry’s body. Things really heat up in more ways than one.

I couldn’t put this book down, it’s fast paced with a lot of information packed into the pages. Brogan and Gabby have a rocky road but when the sparks start flying between these two you’d best get something to drink. Its going to get very hot, very fast.
