She has a secret the wrong people know…
Hannah Fuentes has graduated Magna Cum Laude from the School of Hard Knocks. Beaten, pregnant and betrayed at seventeen, she has slowly built a life for herself and her daughter Jessie in the small town of Hennessey, South Dakota.

He faces a future he doesn’t want…
Caleb Burrows is leaving town. His parents long to return to Los Lobos and pack life, lured by the promise of change under the new Alpha, Drew Tao. The most vivid memories that Caleb and his twin siblings have of pack life are ones of betrayal, pain and horror. They do not remember a time when the pack was at peace.

A chance meeting…
Caleb has one final job to complete for the family construction business – the refurbishment of the local diner in Hennessey. He gets more than he bargained for, however. One look, one scent tells him that Hannah, the ‘pocket rocket’ waitress, is his mate. Caleb is determined that nothing will stop him from claiming her as his own.

The first touch…
An explosive encounter lays bare the secrets they have both fought so hard to keep hidden. Caleb must prove he can protect Hannah and her adorable little girl who steals his heart with one look. Can he persuade her to give up the safe life she has worked so hard for? Her burgeoning relationship with Caleb shows there are untold wonders to be explored in the hands of a man who understands her true worth.

The past will test them…
When Hannah’s past rears its ugly head, they must face it side by side. Only united can they save what is most precious to them. Together they will learn that family comes in many guises and there is nothing they won’t sacrifice when one of their own is threatened

I love the Black Hills Wolves! Drew is an amazing Alpha and is really trying to get the pack together again in Los Lobos. Reaching out to all that had been driven away by his father.
In this tale we meet another family, that had been secreted away by Ryker. The Burrows family is preparing to relocate back to Los Lobos. They are planning to sell their construction business to two of their foremen but first they need to complete promised projects. The last thing Caleb expected when doing an appraisal on renovations to Will and Bridie’s Diner was to find his mate.
Mate. Ours. Seek. Claim.
A Mate’s Healing Touch (Black Hills Wolves Book 36) (Kindle Locations 202-203).
This sentiment seemed to scream from his wolf. I found this a bit amusing having seen many find their mates in this series. I don’t think any have had quite that reaction from their wolf, close but not quite.

Hannah doesn’t quite know what her feelings are other than she is nervous around this strange man. When circumstances have Caleb witnessing her using her unique power to help Bridie, the outcome is hotter than hell. This also causes a reaction of pain that has Caleb taking her pain and forcing him to change. OOPS! Shortly thereafter is my favorite scene when her daughter Jessie bursts into the kitchen.

“Momma, Momma! I missed you, what’s going on…oh! Look at the doggy; he’s beautiful. Can we keep him, Momma, can we?” Jessie whipped past Will and came to a sudden halt in front of the wolf. She was inches from his jaws, his head at the same height as hers although he sprawled across Hannah’s legs.

“Get back, Jessie!” Will made a grab for her, but her little arms circled the huge neck as she buried her face into his thick fur.

“I knew you would come,” she whispered. “I told Grampa my momma needed someone to protect her, and here you are.”

Jessie burrowed deeper against the wolf, who confounded Hannah by turning his head to rub against the little girl’s shoulder, tucking her close against his thick body.

Everything about the wolf’s body language was protective and although her maternal instincts screamed at her to pull her daughter away from the huge beast, enough rationality remained for her to sit still and observe the tender moment.

She raised her eyes to Will and quirked an eyebrow at him and he mouthed, “Grampa?” at her. She pointed back at him, assuming it meant him, but he shook his head in denial. Another mystery for them to unravel in a night of unsurpassed strangeness because there was no other man in Jessie’s life she could imagine her calling Grampa.

The weight on her legs grew uncomfortable and she tried to shift her legs a little. The wolf moved his head, swiping his big pink tongue up the side of the little girl’s face, making her giggle and squirm away from him. Raised up on his big broad paws, his shoulder stood above the child’s head once he gained his full height.
A Mate’s Healing Touch (Black Hills Wolves Book 36) (Kindle Locations 465-477).

This was only the beginning of a very interesting, sizzling hot relationship. There is also a bonding of family both wolf and human that hasn’t been seen with regard to the Los Lobos pack before. I loved the way things play out and the lessons that they all learn.
