A woman does what’s necessary to get her man…

When Drayce Freeman rocked Kinsey Jamison’s world one passionate night and then turned tail and ran the morning after, she did the only thing a self-respecting woman would. Chase him down and prove they had the zing. Fortunately her BFF, a jaguar shifter, gave her the 411 on wolves—or most of it, that is. She’s ready to do whatever it takes to get her man—even if it means taking on the whole pack.

The last thing Drayce needs right now is the sexy human his inner wolf wants to claim showing up in Los Lobos. The headstrong, goofy female refuses to take no for an answer. Living on the fringes of a rebuilding pack is hard enough, but now he has the widow of his pack mate and a rugrat to deal with. Adding a human to the mix would be a mistake. Duty sucks.

Wow, this story is one I didn’t see coming. Okay, so maybe I did, because I read the blurb but still.Kinsey is very outspoken, and her sparring with Ryker I found hysterical. Especially when she decides to meditate on the roof of Gee’s.

Drayce had no idea she would follow him. He only knows he left without mating her, because it was the best thing to do, the only thing to do.

Now with Kinsey here and him being told to handle it, well a lot of shit is about to hit the fan. Kinsey doesn’t like to take no for an answer. Although Drayce does stay the night with her upstairs at Gee’s no one expected what happens next. This is one of my favorite scenes.

She took the stairs two at a time, her fists pumping as she charged into the bar. He’d never seen anything sexier. Ryker raised his eyebrows when she proceeded forward until scant inches separated her and the Jago Enforcer. Jadrien stood there, unaffected by the clear violation of personal space Drayce knew Jaguars demanded. The fact he didn’t react shocked Drayce.

Jadrien leaned in. “You have a lot of explaining to do.”

“Excuse me? I think you’ve been dipping too far into the catnip, bucko.” Her voice boomed. Gee chuckled behind the bar. “Care to expand on your statement?”

He prowled a step forward, and Drayce took a protective step toward Kinsey, a feral growl rumbling from his throat. Jadrien smirked. “You have interesting tastes in bed mates.”

“Who I take to my bed is not, nor has it ever been, any of your business. Now, back to your comment about my having a lot of explaining to do. It seems you are the one who has a hell of a lot of apologizing to do. How dare you come here and charge into my hotel room and hold a knife to Drayce’s throat.”

So much for keeping the event under wraps. Ryker stood to attention and looked over at Drew. Shit, Drayce hadn’t seen him enter the fray. Not good.

“You run off, the impulsive minx you’ve always been, with barely a word to anyone, and you don’t think I’m going to be sent after you? Lauren’s been climbing the curtains, wondering where the shit you are because apparently you’ve forgotten how to use a cell phone.” Backing up a step, he lowered his voice. “You may never accept this, but as far as we are concerned, you are Jago and under our protection and rules. You had no right to traipse across country without speaking to Daniel first. Or at least me.”

She harrumphed under the heated accusation. “The only person I have to seek permission from before bedding Drayce is Drayce. So, let’s get to the real basis of this charge across the country to drag my ass back. You and Lauren’s dad aren’t happy about my refusal to consider any of your men’s pursuits.”

Tension flanked possessiveness. Drayce settled his hand on her waist. He might not have any business pursuing her, but he’d be damned if he stood back and let someone else scoop her up. Everything about his existence was pretty fucking shitty right now.

Except for her.

“I’m not airing pack laundry here, Kinsey.”

“Really? Funny. Seems like you’d already started it before I was even awake.” She crossed her arms and looked over her shoulder at Drayce. “He does crazy so good I’m thinking he’d be a perfect fit for Tricia.”

Drew chuckled along with Drayce. Jadrien grumbled incoherently and flexed his fists. “Let me guess. She’s protected as pack but not punishable as pack.” Drew smirked as he regarded Kinsey with obvious curiosity.

“Pretty much,” Jadrien offered. “I assume I’m not allowed to speak with her alone.”

“No,” Drayce snarled.

“Handle this without me,” Drew stated. He headed toward the door, but paused. “Oh, and Jadrien? If you ever enter Tao pack lands without permission again, we’ll have issues.”

The Enforcer nodded his acquiescence.

“She leaves town today,” Ryker stated.
A Wolf’s Promise (Black Hills Wolves Book 10) (Kindle Locations 424-452). Decadent Publishing. Kindle Edition.

That’s just the beginning as Drayce’s promise comes to light. Kinsey is a stubborn one and is not above fighting for what she wants. Her man, her mate.

I truly loved this story, a stubborn wolf, an even more stubborn mate, widows and children and promises meant to be kept. All topped off by the heat of mating.

Welcome to Nirvana. Your wish is a cowboy’s command.

An author. An injured pro football player. And hot nights in paradise. Nirvana has never been better.

Krista shows up at Nirvana, not for vacation, but she wants a divorce. Yet when she sees her husband for the first time in years, the last thing she can think about is dissolution papers and freedom. She wants to saddle her cowboy and take a ride down memory lane with her stud.

Dodge has no intention of signing those papers–at least not at the moment. Krista is as hot as a pot of oil over an open fire and he plans to show her that he has the endurance and the amazing moves as a cowboy as he had when he was a pro football player. No surprise, his wife has a thing for role playing and he’s more than happy to make his bedroom into their stage.

When a bombshell guest wants to sink her claws into Dodge’s back, Krista makes it clear, “Cowboys is Mine”…at least temporarily. She’s jealous. Dodge’ll take what he can get. He has something up his sleeve that’ll create a twist in their relationship and will put his NFL moves to shame.

This book was a gift from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Second chances always make for a good story but this one is also unique. I can’t say that I know of anyone who has left a divorce go unsettled for 10 years, but in these circumstances I guess I understand it.

Kris wants to move on but I think she is still in love with her husband. He hasn’t signed the divorce papers and hasn’t answered any calls or inquiries whether they be from her or her lawyer.

Dodge doesn’t know why he never signed the papers. He seems to be avoiding everything ‘real life’. Working at Nirvana he has no responsibilities except the assigned chores, keeping the guests happy and himself.

One thing was clear right from the beginning. These two still have feelings for each other. The problem is that neither of them want to admit they are the lasting kind of feelings. Even though they have been in their hearts for ten long years.

A favorite scene is when they are at her cabin right after she checked in to Nirvana.

“We really do need to talk, Dodge,” she said.

“Yeah, you’ve said that a few times.” But he didn’t like what she wanted to discuss. He dragged off his hat and tore his hand through his hair, then smashed it back into place. “Can’t, not right now. I need some time to gather my thoughts.” He stomped toward he door, stopping at the threshold, then turned back to look at her. “We’ll talk later.” He raked his gaze over her, a cross between needing to leave and wanting to stay.

“I won’t leave without…”

He narrowed his gaze. “Without what?” She suddenly looked like she had forgotten what she was about to say.  “What, Krista?”

When she didn’t say a word, but her bottom lip trembled, he sucked in a deep breath. “We are still married,” she whispered.

“It would seem so.” he mumbled.

“A least our marriage license says we are. I thought I would come here, drag out the papers and demand you sign immediately. But what I’ve found is that I see why you and I always did things without thinking.”

“So, you feel like you’re still married to me?”

“I feel like I’m young again, caught off guard by a charming smile and an overwhelming, uncontrollable need buried deep inside of me..”

“If that’s the case, then I don’t see any reason why a husband can’t greet his wife with a proper hello.” He slammed the door closed and rounded the bed. Three strides and he was upon her, dragging her into his arms, hard against his chest. For a breath of time he held her gaze before lowering his mouth over hers. At first, she resisted him, pressed her hands against his chest, but then her fingers dug into the material of his shirt, clinging to him like she’d never let him go. A deep moan vibrated her chest as if she’d come to the resolution that there wasn’t any need to deny herself the pleasure. Her arms came up around his neck and she stood on tiptoe, sliding her tongue deep into his mouth. She snaked her fingers into his hair, knocking his hat to the floor and he didn’t give a shit. He didn’t care much about anything but being here, with her, and getting a sexual fix with his wife.
Cowboy Is Mine (Kindle Locations 913-929). Kindle Edition.

The physical attraction is intense and I have to say I wanted to smack Dodge silly for the way he left her later in the chapter. However he does make it up to her and me.

The sexual attraction is constant and is noticed by others at Nirvana. Imagine their surprise that Dodge is actually married.

I really loved the progression of this story. From the Dodge’s shock at seeing her,  to the agreement to enjoy the week together, to the off the charts sex, all the way to the ending.

A page turner that is most satisfactory with laughter, tears and the Cowboys from previous books as well.

As I read through this Kindle World, I see missions gone FUBAR, but none quite like this one.

Gina Daye’s brother Cam, has gone missing. A former SEAL he works security at a museum not exactly a dangerous job. Little does she know, he is working for GAPS on a very sensitive mission as body guard to a prince. She’s hunting down SEALs who know her brother to be sure he’s okay. He’s the only family she has.

Gabriel “Hawk” Barrett’s involvement is to try to infiltrate the prince’s cousin’s organization and take it down. Thus preventing the assassination of the Prince. When Gina walks into the bar that has been designated as the meeting point, things go rapidly downhill.

Chloroformed and kidnapped by the men looking for her brother and the Prince, she is rescued by Hawk and brought to a safe house. After she wakes up and after a scuffle or two with Hawk they manage to have breakfast and some conversation leading up to this scene which is one of my favorites.

“No. It’s good. Let’s eat.” She motioned for him to sit and they spent the next half hour eating, talking about her coffee shop, and cleaning up while being civil.

It was a miracle.

Heaven help her, she liked this side of Hawk. A lot.

“I think we just broke a record,” she told him as she dried the dishes he washed.

He turned to her, a half grin tugging his lips. “Oh? For what?”

“Most minutes together without tearing each other to shreds.”

His smile turned wry. “Will wonders never cease?”

She laughed. “Who knows? I’m just glad you’re not telling me to get the fuck out.”

Shit. Why’d she say that?

Now his smile was gone, and a frowning scowl pinched his face.

“I’m sorry about that, Gina,” he said, wiping his hands before grasping her shoulders. “I was a complete ass to you in the hospital, and you were nothing but kind. You didn’t deserve my bad attitude. You deserved my gratitude. And I am grateful. Thank you for being there for me.”

By the time he finished, Gina could barely breathe. She heard the words and the sincerity with which they were delivered. Watched them fall from his mouth. Still, they were a shock to her system. In a damn good way.

She swallowed past her hot throat and lifted her hand to touch his face, finally getting to say the words she’d wanted to say back then. “You’re my friend, Hawk. Like it or not, I care about you. I’ve got your six. I’ll always have your six.”

His intake of breath hissed between them as he lifted a hand to cup her face and brush away a tear with his thumb. “I don’t deserve it.”

“That’s the problem,” she said as her tears increased. “For some reason, you see yourself as this monster, but your friends don’t see you that way at all.”
A Daye with A SEAL (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Dangerous Curves Series Book 3) (Kindle Locations 637-656). Kindle Worlds. Kindle Edition.

From here things between take a turn for the better. That is until Gina makes a critical mistake starting an avalanche of sorts. But she also has a few surprises for Hawk as well. Lots of action, plenty of twists to keep you turning the pages, and lets not forget the sizzling hot sex!

About the Author Spring Blog

  Donna Michaels   Donna Michaels

It’s all my mother’s fault.

She read to me before I could read and opened up that magical world where I still reside today. Then came television and movies. Now I had three avenues that fed my imagination…and boy could I eat! As you no doubt figured out, this lead to my writing career. I’m a NY Times, USA Today, and Amazon Bestselling Award winng author. Phew, that was a mouthful! Multi-published in e-book and print with several publishers, I certainly have a ton of voices in my head.

I’m happily married to a military man for 28 years. We have four children and several rescued cats. Michael’s been in the Army National Guard since before he graduated. The Guard has been a part of our lives right from the start. It was only natural for the military to spill into my writing. God bless the military and their families. Thank you all for your sacrifices. ♥

You already know my mom inspired my love of reading, but it was my dad who got me hooked on movies. Even now, if I had the time, I could happily go from one movie to another all day long. They are the reason I love mixed genre and why I can’t just stick to just one in my writing, although, as you can tell, I have a soft spot for cowboys and the military.

Well, that’s about it. Thanks for getting to know me a little better. Remember, keep reading to your children. The journey you’re igniting is precious. And the next time you’re at the movies, turn around. I just might be the person sitting behind you. No, not the one throwing popcorn (it’s too expensive to waste). I’m the one already imagining the sequel.

Have a great day and thanks for reading!
