Synopsis

This is a STANDALONE dark(ish) erotic romance with insta-obsession between two damaged soulmates (no cheating-HEA-no cliffhanger)

Hannah

All my life, I’ve only wanted one thing: someone to love me and someone who will let me love them in return. This seems like a simple request, but I was born to parents who wished I had died of childhood leukemia, instead of my younger sister, and who have ignored me no matter how much I’ve tried to please them. I’m starved for affection, addicted to the feeling when someone cares about me, which has led to a love life filled with either boys I’ve scared off, or men all too eager to take advantage of me. I thought I would never find a man who could feed my craving for constant attention–and then I met Leo. He fills the void inside of me, haunts my dreams, and does things to me in bed that are so good, they’re probably illegal. I can only pray I don’t scare him off once he figures out just how needy I really am.

Leo

There are very few people in this world I’ve ever been able to form an emotional attachment to, but the moment I saw Hannah, I knew she was mine. We were bound together by fate, our paths crossing first as children, then as adults, each time marking me. She doesn’t know it but I’ve been watching her for a year now, studying her, stacking the deck so when I do make my move, there’s no way she’ll ever escape me. But my world is a harsh, cruel place, and the cartel I work for demands absolute loyalty and trust…a loyalty Hannah has yet to earn in the dangerous eyes of my employers. There is only one way to ensure Hannah’s absolute devotion, and I hope that she doesn’t hate me forever when she finds out that not only have I brainwashed her into loving me, but that I don’t feel an ounce of guilt about doing it. She’s mine, only mine, and I’m keeping her forever.

Warning: This story features a rough and demanding Dom who’s completely devoted to bringing his baby girl pleasure through such unconventional means as spanking, mild BDSM, D/S, roleplaying, and various other forms of wicked kinkery.BuyNow

review-for-ann-tour

While this book may not be for everyone, Ann has taken some almost taboo subjects and turned them in to an intriguing and sensual read.

The cartel is a strong family unit and has to deal with a devastating blow in the beginning, one that is handled in a way only they can find justice.

Leo faces a challenge from his mother. Find a way to be sure that any woman her sons get involved with will never betray them, and be loving spouses and mothers. This leads him in an indirect way to Hannah. She will be his in the way he needs a partner, his baby girl, his submissive, and eventually his wife. At least that are his plans.

Hannah has not had very good luck in relationships. She is needy and clingy and insecure. Leo coming into her life in an unusual way is both a delight and a shock.

Twisted yes, but Leo does it right. The Daddy Dom in him is perfect for Hannah. She needs love, care and trust. Leo gives her that and more.

Here is a favorite scene the beginning of an interesting relationship.
To be honest, I’d all but forgotten about the girl I’d talked with in the waiting room of the hospital other than a random thought now and again, but some part of me had remembered the cadence of her words, the color of her eyes. When she’d waited on me at that diner a year ago, she was shy, sweet, funny, and when her hand brushed mine as I held my coffee cup steady, a flurry of sparks raced through my body, lighting up previously unused pleasure centers in my brain. Yes, I’ve had sex, and yes it has been pleasurable, but I’ve never felt the instant, enslaving blow of the need to own a woman that has made men stupid since the dawn of time.

At least until I saw Hannah.

In disguise, I’d visited her twice more at her job, an addict desperate for the fix of her soothing presence, the melody of her voice.

Briefly touching her as she’d handed me my food was both heaven and hell, her skin baby smooth and her sweetheart-shaped face graced with a small smile.

She invaded my thoughts, then my dreams, and finally I began my own reconnaissance in earnest, a yearning growing inside of me for a future I didn’t deserve. The more I watched her, the more fixated I became, unable to believe a person as good-hearted as Hannah really existed. But time and time again she proved that she was just…nice. She was loyal to her friends, kind to strangers, and sweet to the point that people like her rich bitch roommate took advantage of her.

She was a treasure waiting for the right man, a man like me, to recognize her potential.

I’ll give her everything she needs to be happy so even when I break her heart—and I will, the nature of my job almost guarantees it—she’ll love me enough to let me put it back together again, because I’ll be the only person who can.

If this works, I will have her absolute loyalty, and she’ll be the one person I can fully trust in this whole world.

In my arms, Hannah’s light weight rested easily against me and I couldn’t resist leaning forward and brushing my lips over her incredibly full, slightly parted ones before drawing away with great reluctance.

Now it was time to see if all my planning, all my work with the Cordova cartel’s scientists would pay off, and if Judith would have her miracle.

Ann Mayburn

With over forty published books, Ann is Queen of the Castle to her husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she’s been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead-though she will deny to her children that it ever happened.

From a young Ann has had a love affair with books would read everything she could get her hands on. As Ann grew older, and her hormones kicked in, she discovered bodice ripping Fabio-esque romance novels. They were great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she’s never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her ‘sexy space’ and has accepted that her Muse has a severe case of ADD.

Ann loves to talk with her fans, as long as they realize she’s weird, and that sarcasm doesn’t translate well via text.

One of the things I most enjoy about this series is how the different authors portray the pack.

In this one Nika is a new scout who finds a woman hurt and seriously ill in the woods. Again we see Drew in a harsher light, one that we don’t always see but necessary for the safety of the pack. Ryker also shows a side he doesn’t usually since Drew became Alpha. Gee is once again knowledgeable of things as he determines this lovey woman named Kimi is from the past. This is a favorite scene.

She moaned, and Nika’s heart sped. He kept quiet, letting the older pack members sort out what was to be done. His body ached with the need to be near her, but he held himself in check. A wrong move, and he could end up in an even worse situation. His place in the pack was one of deference to the Alpha. Always. No matter what he wanted, his Alpha’s wishes came first. That’s how things worked in the pack.

“I know a healer.” Gee stood.

“Who?” Drew asked. “Not too close?”

“Her name is Wen. She works alone, deep in the Black Hills sanctuary. Nowhere near Los Lobos.”

Drew nodded. “Perfect. Nika, I want you to think about what might have happened if we hadn’t been close by to handle this situation. Not only could our pack’s safety have been an issue, but you could’ve been killed.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

“Gee will remind you of the procedures, and next time, you’ll follow them.”

Nika nodded.

“We’ll leave now. I can carry this female.” Gee sighed.

“Very good.” Drew stuck his hands in his pockets.

“Kill her.” The deep voice, though quiet, thundered through the clearing. The birds stopped chattering.

Ryker.

Where the fuck had he come from? The Enforcer leaned against a tree, arms crossed and scowling. Nika shuddered, remaining quiet. The last Wolf in the world he wanted to piss off was Ryker.

“No, we can’t kill her.” Gee shook his head. “She’s our little Nika’s mate.”

He blinked. Had he heard Gee correctly? Mate? He swallowed hard. No, no way the she-Wolf was his mate— she wasn’t even a pack member. And he wasn’t old enough. Well, he was, but he wasn’t ready to settle down. She was gorgeous and made his body act independent of his mind.

Mate? No.

Drew harrumphed. “Well then, that complicates things.”

Kimi tried to sit up, collapsing when she raised her head.

“I-is she okay?” Nika asked.

Gee leaned his ear over her face and paused. “She’s breathing.” He sat up. “She fainted. We need to go. Wen’s got a lot of work ahead of her.”
Adrienne, Kerry. The Wolf and the Butterfly (Black Hills Wolves Book 19) (Kindle Locations 166-186). Decadent Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Wen is a powerful healer/Raven shifter. Wen explains the cure and how they must get it. Back in time, further than even Kimi’s time.

An exciting adventure with surprises at almost every turn as Nika and Kimi find not only the cure but love as well.

review-fall-cornucopia

I don’t know what I expected when I started this book. However Magnum possessing a pack member’s mate was a scary yet interesting turn of events.Ange is the real deal, a true medium, not someone cheating the clients her parents force on her. Now she has decided this was the last week. She would never do this again, she couldn’t take the darkness she was feeling.

Jaxson however, is another story. He’s found his mate but doesn’t believe her. He wants her more than anything but to him she is a liar and a cheat using people for their money.

How she found her way to him was something Jaxson couldn’t understand, neither could Drew or Ryker. Yet she found Los Lobos, and she was bruised and exhausted when she arrived. This scene is a favorite.

“Easy, pup,” Drew growled. “You don’t have to bother telling me she belongs to you. I can smell you on her. The question I need answered is how the fuck did she find you? Did you tell her about this place?”
Jax’s quick survey of Ange had his Wolf pacing to be set free. He pushed the hair from her face to reveal small scratches and scrapes. Drew’s words registered, Jax didn’t attempt to hide his sarcasm. “Yeah, I left her in town and then drew her a map how to get here. Did you look at her feet? Her hands? It’s like she clawed her way here. Who the hell goes for a hike barefoot in these hills?”

“I don’t have answers, I want answers, Jax. A human walks miles through the Black Hills and happens to show up on Main Street doesn’t fly. I won’t let the pack be put in danger. Not by her and not by you.” Drew, always the voice of reason.

“You’re gonna stand there and question my loyalty to the pack? Are you fuckin’ kidding me? Have you forgotten I was one of the few who stayed through Magnum’s reign? I did everything I could to hold our people together behind his back. Of course, you remember, you were the one who found me strung up in the barn like some kind of goddamn sacrifice.” Jax spat the words.

“I do remember. I’ll never be able to repay you for what you did or for what you suffered. Your loyalty was something I would never question, until now. There is no other explanation. Take her home, clean her up, and keep an eye on her. I’ll be by to talk once she’s up and around.” He walked away.

There was nothing else to say, at least not now. He picked Ange up carefully, cradled her against his chest, and headed home. He reminded himself of when he found her in Sturgis. She was a fake, a damn con artist. But how did she find her way here? The next to last thing he wanted to do was take her to his cabin. The last thing he wanted to do was turn her over to one of the pack to take care of her.

Mine, his wolf repeated in his mind.
Cassidy, Cam. A Wolf Awakens (Black Hills Wolves Book 18) (Kindle Locations 526-539). Decadent Publishing. Kindle Edition.

We see a side of Drew and Ryker that we haven’t before. A harsh one that is needed to protect the pack. I held my breath and cried quite a bit in this one. A lot of tension for everyone involved.

Cam Cassidy is an erotic romance author, her current with with a paranormal sizzle. She spent her life growing up in a small Ohio farming community. The lack of neighbors and companionship of mostly cows and horses in her youth left her plenty of time for her passion of reading to flourish.

As an adult, Cam is married and the mother of three ornery children who keep her on her toes. The cup of coffee in her hand is a trademark. She works full time in the medical field. In her spare time, she spends every minute reading and writing. Watching her children ride horses, dirt bikes with a notebook in hand to never miss jotting down that next all important story idea.

All of the “hard work” reading and writing sitting beside the fire drinking a glass of wine. Or was it between loads of laundry? Her dream of becoming a published author have come true.
