Sam Camden is on the verge of losing the only thing he ever cared about—his wife, Makenzie. First, she tells him she wants a divorce then she’s in a car accident and awakes with no memory of their life together. As much as he knows telling her the truth about their relationship is the right thing to do, he can’t leave her.

When he brings her home, suddenly the house she hated is perfect, she finds the closet she filled to capacity ridiculous, and the man she’s barred from her bed is all she wants.

Makenzie knows something is wrong with her, but being married to the man she can hardly remember is more than she ever dreamed. She can’t remember her husband more than the feeling of safety he inspires, but as she watches him and the way he tiptoes around her and measures every word before he speaks it, and her memories come back in pieces, she’s torn between discovering the truth about herself and enjoying the contentment she feels with the life she barely recognizes.

Resisting their attraction to one another is harder than either is prepared to deal with, and together they have to figure out if they can overcome the secrets of their past or if it’s time to say goodbye once and for all.

Winter Blog Review

This is not a find a guy/girl and fall in love romance. This one is I have the girl, I love her and want to keep her, but she left me. Well she almost did.

Makenzie was leaving Sam, heading to file for divorce when she has a car accident. He rushes to the hospital and sits there, with the in-laws who never approved of him, waiting for her to wake up.

When she does, she has amnesia. The doctors are confident her memory will return but how much or when they couldn’t say. She also is feeling a lot of love for her husband, love that he can’t quite trust. After all she did say she didn’t love him anymore and wanted a divorce.

This is a favorite scene after she’s awake in the hospital.

I don’t know the exact reason for the change in my wife, but I know I don’t mind her hanging onto me, needing me for more than my checkbook and credit cards. I don’t miss the bite to her tones, the contempt in her eyes. I like the way she watches me now, the way she loses her breath when she says my name, the way she fought to keep me by her. She looks like she put eyeshadow in all the wrong places, but she’s never been more lovely. My heart is bursting with all the feelings I’ve been hiding over the last few months.

I can’t remember the last time she let me hold her, love her. For the last six or seven months, I haven’t touched her— rather, haven’t been allowed to touch her. Now, she’s gazing at me with a case of hero worship, and I only hope I don’t let her down. I’ll be here for her, no matter how long it takes and no matter what she needs.

“You’re deep in thought.”

I have to smile. Anything else doesn’t make sense. “I’m just enjoying my nap.”

As wrong as it is, I almost hope her memory never comes back. I’m afraid if it does, she’ll go back to resenting all I can’t give her, the things any man with money would be happy to provide. I want a while longer of her loving me before she hates me again.
Melissa Shirley. Forget Us Not (Kindle Locations 275-285). After Glows.

Her dreams are her memories returning and this book takes us on a journey through both past and present.

An emotional read of relationship growth with an interesting twist.

How much mischief can a witch with misfiring magical mojo get into?

Plenty… Life in Assjacket seems to have achieved an odd normal—if living with a former skunk turned into her professor lover and raising a hot-tempered teenager with out of control magic can be called normal. Bridget wants to embrace her new life except…déjà vu is driving her crazy.

Not to mention she still has to satisfy a deal with the vampires, please the Baba Yaga, get Rika’s wild magic under control, oh and—just in case there wasn’t enough on her plate, she has to learn to compromise with Martin, lest he skunk out on her again.

Impulse control has never been Bridget’s best quality. After Rika summons a highlander from the pages of her novel and declares her intentions to keep him, Bridget is pushed to the end of her tether. Then there’s that déjà vu. Maybe it’s just the repetitive nature of small town life.

Of course, when a witch shows up to take her highlander back, it will take Bridget’s odd little family working together to save Angus.

Winter Blog Review

If you’ve read the Witch Singer you know that Bridget is not happy with Baba Yaga’s edict that she must help sixteen year old Rika control her magic. Well Rika isn’t exactly pleased either, all she does is go to school and do chores. She doesn’t feel Bridget’s teaching her enough so she’s rebelling in full force teen mode.

Now don’t get huffy things get explained quickly, and a hunky Scot named Angus is just a small issue, really it is.

This is a favorite scene.

“Bridget!” Rika shrieked. “I summoned him. Let me go.”

Yeah, that’s what I thought she’d said earlier. Still not on board with whatever mad plan she’d concocted. The Scotsman—oh Angus, for beef and damn if he wasn’t beefcake…

“Witchypoo,” Martin’s voice took on a distinct note of disapproval. “You’re drooling.”

“Dude, he’s hot but I love you and you’re way hotter.” To prove my point, I twisted, caught Martin’s face in my hands and planted a sinful kiss on his lips.

Winter Blog Review

What does a girl do when her boyfriend breaks it off just a few days before her surprise anniversary trip. Why she asks her bestfriend to go with her instead, of course. Paige however has other ideas when she turns down Zori.

Here’s a favorite scene as Paige sets the stage for her best friend.

“I don’t know what she wants us to do.” Paige said, breaking into my thoughts.

“Yeah, she wants us to get to know each other, but I gotta be honest with you, Paige…” I started to say.

“I already know you’re in love with her, Mateo. Everyone can see it.”

“Everyone can see it?” Shit. I’d thought I was playing it cool, biding my time. Time is running out. And that was the truth of it. Time was running out. She’d wanted that idiot Clinton to propose to her. Propose! As if he could give her what she needed. He didn’t know the first thing about Zori. Not like I did.

“Well, if you already know, how come she doesn’t?”

Paige shrugged her shoulders and smiled widely. Her eyes were blue orbs of mischief. She had some crazy idea, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be down.

“Hey, I have an idea.”

“Yeah, what?”

“She’s got those tickets to that island. I’m gonna make sure the two of you end up there together.”

“Tickets to an island? What island?” This was the first time I’d heard anything about an island.

“Yea, Aragon Island and the resort is called Indulgences. Trust me, if you want her to see what everyone else already does, then you want to go on this trip with her.”

“I’ll take all the help I can get.”

“Excellent. And, Mateo….”

“Yeah?” “Drop the nice guy routine.”

What the hell did she mean by that?

“Explain?” I said, standing taller. Sure, I was nice, but I wasn’t that nice.

“Come off it. You’re always so polite and sweet around her. I know she crushed on you big time back in high school, but that guy wasn’t nice. That guy brooded, that guy knew what he wanted and went after it. That guy had a tongue war with some chick in Kroger a few weeks back like he wanted to prove to her what kind of night she was in for.”

My eyes widened. She’d seen me at Kroger with Rosa? Oh, shit. That was not good. Rosa was a family friend…and a mistake.

“You’re still not making any sense, Paige.”

Paige patted my shoulder as if I were some little kid who just didn’t get it. Okay, I didn’t get it, but still. I was almost six-four, and in no way, shape, or form little.

“Honey, she needs a man-man. Not a nice boy-man.”

With those parting words, she headed off into the kitchen where Zori was.
Eden, Tigris. A Game of Hearts: February Indulgence (An Indulgences Novella Book 3) (Kindle Locations 293-314). Kats Kreative Ideas. Kindle Edition.

Zori isn’t sure about this trip with Mateo. She doesn’t want to lose her bestfriend because they have sex.

Mateo wants more and suddenly her fantasy changes, from a week-long fling to a contest to see who is the best fit for Mateo.

Oh what a tangled web. The change from friends to lovers is not an easy one. However it’s more than just that for Zori. She needs to decide what she really wants and needs. Obviously what she thought she wanted really wasn’t, since that relationship failed big time. Will she be able to give her heart completely to Mateo and be happy about it.

I loved the twist in this one. It was perfect for Zori to think things through. Just like we all have to do sometimes.

Winter Blog Review

I originally read this as Explosive Combination, it has been revised and edited to fit closer with the Black Swan Series and we hear and see more of those fabulous ladies in this one.

While the basis of the story hasn’t changed it is really different and we meet some new characters as well.

This story starts off with a bang. Under the noses of her ATF team Harper Tambini is taken by Carlos Narváez the head of one of the drug running Cartels. Carlos’ Secundo Rafe is taken by surprise but follows orders to take her to the Narváez compound.

Unknown to Harper, Rafe is CIA and has been undercover for a long time keeping watch on his one time friend. He knows Carlos is becoming more paranoid and using his own product more and more. This scares him especially since he doesn’t know why Harper was taken. He contacts his agency and plans for her extraction and his own.

This is a favorite scene as Rafe wakes Harper after a call with his CIA boss.

Harper stirred. He crept to the bed and bent to shake her shoulder to awaken her.

She grabbed his arm and flipped him onto the bed face down, arms locked behind his back. She held a knife to his throat. His legs splayed, and her knee nudged his crotch.

“Harper,” he choked out in English, “I’m CIA. I’m one of the good guys. Let me up.”

She held her position. “You’re very high ranking in this organization to be CIA. How long have you been under cover?” She kept her face close to his and spoke in undertones.

She was good. He’d never expected that move. “I started at the top. Narváez and I were college roommates. Now can you get off me?” His heart beat rapidly for what seemed to take forever. The cold steel at his throat didn’t quiver. He heard her sigh and the pressure of her knee at his crotch ease.

She finally removed the knife and slid off his back. “I’d hoped someone was inside, but I didn’t think it was you.” She moved quickly away from him and braced herself on her knees, the knife still held in fighting position.

Rafe rolled onto his back and sat up. He rubbed where the blade had pressed, thankful not to feel any blood on his neck. “You’re better than I thought you’d be. I never saw you steal this from the supper table.” He glanced at the satisfied look on her face.

“Yes, I am good. The hardest part was to find some place under that dress that it wouldn’t imprint. The last thing I wanted was Narváez to strip-search me at the supper table.” She shuddered.
KaLyn Cooper. Explosive Combination (Kindle Locations 1292-1307). Kindle Edition.

As we all know the best plans always go awry so, Rafe and Harper proceed to plan B or is it C through the jungle. A tense action packed story as they work their way through not only the jungle but also the attraction to one another.  Topped off with explosive (pun intended) sex.

Watch the Trailer

Winter Blog Blurbs and Reviews

As I begin these reviews I want to thank the wonderful authors for bringing this amazing story to life. I have fallen in love with each of the characters as they were revealed and watched as they overcome much adversity to find love and revenge for past losses.

At the end of the last book, seven more characters were unveiled as it were. These are their stories of how they became involved and how they now contribute to the end of Red Wolf.

Satisfying SiliconVirginia Nelson
silicon

Lady Dead may be number five on his hit list, but she trusts that Silicon will come for her. Save her or kill her… either way, it’ll be a hot ride.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

The first book opens in the present where Emmaline is awaiting her fate. Restrained and suspended she is hoping Silicon has quickly made it through his kill list and will come for her.

Then we go to her past, one which was not very pleasant, well except for the fact she became part of a gun-running syndicate family. Adopted as their child for her negotiating skills.

Ryan Anderson aka Silicon, has yet another persona, that of Crisis as Emmaline aka Lady Death knows him. An arms dealer making purchases from her to discover who exactly she is working for. For Crisis that is all there is, for Silicon there is another issue. He is attracted to her in a way he has never been with any other woman.

Timing is critical in this story, much is happening behind the scenes and with a good portion of her adopted family dead, Emmaline has only Crisis to turn to. Whether he kills her or not is still up in the air. Yes, the pun is intended.

Lots of action, interesting twist with the attraction between them and so much more.

Here is a favorite quote:
“Strip. I like my men naked and submissive. Can you be submissive, choir boy?”
Virginia Nelson. Elite Elements (Kindle Location 529). Never Settle Publishing, LLC.

I hope you will enjoy meeting Silicon and Emmaline as much as I did. You will not be able to stop reading.

Jason “Coop” Cooper AKA Cesium is following Ming Kow. He is intrigued by his companion with her ponytail swinging. He needs to get to the SOB’s mainframe and copy all the goodies he knows is on there.

Natalia Goodinov Petrova is Ming’s assistant, she thinks she is being followed and is determined to find out why and by whom. Well the answers are going to surprise them both.

Natalia tries to convince Coop not to go after the information he wants to no avail.

Oh the complications, and the surprises in store for them. I loved every second of this and lets just say this couple sizzles off the pages.

Vibranium’s TruthAnna Alexander
vibranium

It’s not the size of the gun that makes a warrior, but the strength of her convictions.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Evan “Vibranium” Christopher hated listening to and seeing Federoff and his crony manhandling a young girl. He was there to get information in the form of a picture. Following the young girl into the restroom where she had escaped for a few moments of peace, he was able to get a photo of the tattoo on the inside of her thigh. The tattoo would give the location of Demetriu Sandoval’s operation and bring them another step closer to Red Wolf.

Miho has her own vendetta, she wants revenge for everything that has happened to her since she was eight years old. Her revenge throws a monkey wrench into Evan’s mission.

A favorite quote.
Because you’re the insane one, that’s why.
Anna Alexander. Elite Elements (Kindle Location 2901). Never Settle Publishing, LLC.

This step towards the end of Red Wolf is intense and has some OMG moments as they follow their prey to a seedier sex club. However the attraction between Evan and Miho is a truer form and is as sweet as it is hot.

Palladium’s ConfessionSaranna DeWylde

A defrocked priest and his benediction of death are no match for this BBW on a mission.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Hekate Bakas has a problem, her Uncle Talbot has decided that she should be with Viktor Semion, a Ukrainian associate of his. He wants control of the shipping business left to her by her father and she has no intention of ever letting her Uncle have any part of it. She needs to take him down, but she’s sure she will end up dead in the process.

Elite has some surprises for Talbot. I confess I enjoyed seeing John ‘Mercury’ Thrace in action again as a prelude to Wen “Palladium” Theophanes’ Mission.

Instead of dying, Hecate ends up with Wen and the plot thickens as he falls for this strong woman.

A favorite quote.
“But you didn’t. You saved me. I’d say you’re my best bet. I’m a practical sort of woman.”
Saranna DeWylde. Elite Elements (Kindle Locations 4400-4401). Never Settle Publishing, LLC.

I kind of felt sorry for Wen, he’s not used to any of the things he’s feeling. Hekate is a match for him in so many ways.

Lots of action in this one as we get yet another step closer to Red Wolf.

Francium’s ChanceRebecca Royce
francium-teaser

Just because he’s on the right side of the fight doesn’t mean she can trust him.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

A big step in taking down any organization is finances. That is Russell “Francium” Burke’s Mission. While they had already been manipulating things so money was being heavily lost. The position they now had Remington Reagan, Red Wolf’s CFO, in was becoming critical and Russell was positioning himself to be his replacement.

Lara London-Reagan was trapped in a loveless marriage, held captive by actions she confessed to her husband before they were married. She’d about reached the end of her rope when she caught their new neighbor watching them having sex.

One thing about all these books is the strength of the women, Lara is no exception and she puts herself at great risk.

A favorite quote.
“I’m not a wilting flower. I mean, I have been, but before that I wasn’t. I was the kind of woman who knew how to get things done.”
Rebecca Royce. Elite Elements (Kindle Locations 5477-5478). Never Settle Publishing, LLC.

I do love the ways the Elite crew persuade co-operation. Again this will cause a change in the initial plans but hey, whatever works.

More surprises and hold your breath moments as Lara and Russell explore their relationship. This one with a little kink.

Arsenic is playing a dangerous game, but one with hefty payout—Red Wolf’s head on a platter.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Addison “Arsenic” Leeds has gone dark making the Elite crew wonder if she has been turned, killed or too deep in to make contact.Tasked with getting rid of the leaks in Elite’s ranks she does what she must to protect her team.

When she’s headed into trouble she contacts the one person outside of the Elite she can trust. Sam Reese, the man she didn’t kill but probably should have.

While the quote used in the teaser is definitely a favorite, I liked this one too.
“No, I was being factual. You’re not a dog. Dogs are loyal.”
Long. Elite Elements (Kindle Locations 6933-6934). Never Settle Publishing, LLC.

These two team up to take down yet another Red Wolf crony and in the process rediscover themselves through barbs, sex and a mutual desire for revenge.

Another action filled installment with sizzling sex and a past to resolve. This one even has some family issues within the Elite ranks.

kryptonite

To rid the world of the deadliest wolf a broken girl must trust her kryptonite.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Clark “Kryptonite” Leeds made a promise to Gold as he lay dying in Moscow at end of Operation Phoenix, the mission that gave birth to the Elite Warriors. His promise was to find and protect Gold’s sister Catarina. She had put herself into the hands of Red Wolf to protect her brother.

As the final mission approaches all the teams are involved. Metal, Ghosts and Element combine for the final takedown. First though they had to get Red Wolf’s code book, a book he always carries with him. The key to all the cyphers in their possession.

This one had me crying and laughing and holding my breath as Kryptonite does his very best to diagnose and fix Catarina.

A favorite quote.
He’d never wanted anything more. To be her Superman.
Jennifer Kacey. Elite Elements (Kindle Locations 9479-9480). Never Settle Publishing, LLC.

Knowing that he has fallen in love with her just from the stories Gold had told him, only makes his task more difficult. Is Catarina truly with Red Wolf or is she merely his prisoner? More importantly does it even matter at this point?

A Surprise for all as this awesome tale comes to a close. Irecommend you read the entire series if you haven’t already. This truly is epic!

Winter Blog Blurb

Once upon a time there was a princess with an evil step mother, who wanted her dead, and a prince ready to stand by her side…

Ian Kelly never thought he’d see her again. The woman who ran out on him after some of the hottest sex of his life. Taylor Carter. He knows a damsel in distress when he sees one, but Taylor doesn’t want saving.

Taylor only meant to do the right thing. Now she’s on the run from her mafia step-mother and her best friend might be dead. Even the FBI has turned on her, and the only person in her corner is a hot Irishman with a nose for danger.

Ian can’t turn his back on Taylor, not when his gut tells him she’s an innocent in a den of thieves. Soon enough her past comes calling, and it’ll take more than true love’s kiss to fix Taylor’s problems.

Winter Blog Review

From the moment Ian accepted the job to determine where the threats to George Wachtel are coming from, he knew it would be an impossible task. All his employees have records, well except for one and also the man didn’t seem to care. On the other hand there was Taylor, the woman who ran out on him after a night of unforgettable sex. She was the nanny and sort of George’s assistant. She’s hiding something the question is what.

Taylor has a lot of things to hide not the least of which is the threat was meant for her. She wasn’t going to be forthcoming to anyone. Trust is not something she has in people. Too many of them have left her or died for her to even consider trust in anyone or anything.

This is a favorite scene where Ian tries to convince her to open up.

On the run from her family. Turned on by the FBI. And what little she had went to paying off the rats who would eventually turn on her. If things could get worse, she hoped she didn’t survive that long. A surprise execution would be a mercy at this point.

“Maybe you think there’s nowhere for you to go, but I promise you there is. Whatever’s goin’ on, I can help you.”

Taylor closed her eyes.

She’d heard those words before from a well-meaning twenty year old.

Her ex-husband was like Ian. He’d wanted to rescue her, and she’d thrown herself at the first Prince Charming with dented armor and a lame horse. What a mistake that’d been. No, she had to save herself. Which meant using whatever came her way.

Ian was a man with the means and drive to protect.

Her conscience said to push him away for his own good. Because that was the right thing to do. But that sort of thinking was what had gotten her into trouble in the first place. If she were being as cutthroat as she needed to be, she’d use Ian. She’d let him think he was saving her, and the whole time, she’d use his good intentions to build her a boat out of this mess.

God, she knew what she should do, what the easy way was, and yet…this would destroy her a bit more. Was her life worth it? She still had the building blocks for a case that would bring down not only her family, but others. But who could she trust? Not the FBI. Not the cops. She’d tried those already.

He should have remained her bit of midnight comfort. She’d gone out that night looking for someone to hold her, to chase away the shadows, and she’d found him. An Irishman with an easy smile, rough hands and a quick laugh.

Ian didn’t know what she was, that she was worse than George or any of his thugs by the simple virtue of her bloodline. “I still want to call you Anne.” He chuckled. “Guess it wasn’t a total lie.”

“Anne was my mother’s middle name.”

“Yeah? She wonderin’ where you are?”

“She’s dead.”

“Sorry.”

“Me, too.” Taylor didn’t want to end up like her mother, which meant she had to do what she didn’t want to. Taylor had never understood the Catch 22 she grew up in until now. To keep the sister no one knew about safe, and to buy a little time, Taylor would have to seduce Ian. Blind him to the truth, until Taylor could get away.
Sidney Bristol. Alpha Prince (Kindle Locations 436-456). Sidney Bristol. Kindle Edition.

From here the plot thickens, as Ian tries to gain Taylor’s trust and bring down George at the same time. Mostly for the safety of Stacey, George’s child.

A fun read with the origin of the Alpha Prince title. Tension, and the betrayal of family to save oneself.

I couldn’t put it down, waiting for the other shoe to fall. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Winter Blog Blurb

Few people know better than Delta Force soldiers that life is unbearably short and achingly precious. So Cormac Fletcher isn’t waiting one more day to marry the love of his life, Emily. Fletch has already adopted her daughter, Annie. Now it’s time to officially make Emily his too.

Emily understands just about every woman experiences a few wedding snafus—but they’re usually not of the harrowing, life-or-death variety. Fortunately for her, a guest list full of Delta soldiers and SEALs will make this an event to remember—for both Emily and the uninvited guests trying to ruin her special day.

Winter Blog Review

I did a lot of giggling at the beginning of this one. Fletch was a hoot as he tried to get a look at Emily before the ceremony. Then of course there is Annie, precocious as ever and looking like a little angel.

This is a favorite scene as Annie comes down the aisle as flower girl.

Annie smiled at him from the end of the aisle and she started toward him slowly, as she’d been trained. Her tongue stuck out in concentration as she picked a flower petal from her basket and dropped it on the floor. Her eyes were glued to her basket, trying not to mess up.

Fletch smiled. Her hair was wild around her face and shoulders, hanging loose. It was interesting that for a girl who eschewed anything feminine, she wouldn’t let anyone cut her long hair. He was thankful for that, because she had beautiful hair. Long, shiny, and thick. Yes, it was messy at the moment, but it was totally Annie.

Fletch heard the chuckles start from the back of the church and slowly move forward as Annie continued down the aisle. He wasn’t sure what everyone was laughing at until Ghost leaned into him and whispered, “Look at what she’s dropping in the aisle.”

Fletch’s eyes went from his daughter to the floor behind her— and he almost choked, trying to keep his chuckle from erupting.

Annie was dropping white flower petals, as she’d been instructed, but she was also dropping little green Army men. She’d reach into her basket, pull out a petal and drop it, then reach in and pull out an Army man. She continued down the aisle, alternating between sprinkling the floor with flowers and the toys.

As much as he wanted to scold her for being mischievous, he couldn’t. It was so freaking adorable. He worried about Emily stepping on one of the plastic toys and twisting an ankle though.

As soon as the thought went through his head, Dude, one of the SEALs, moved. He was already sitting toward the back of the room, but he quickly walked back up the aisle and unobtrusively brushed the toys to the side of the aisle as he went, standing at the back of the church when he got to the end so as not to bring any more attention to himself.

Fletch relaxed. He didn’t know the SEAL team that well, but it was obvious Dude was the kind of man who took extreme care of his woman. Fletch would bet everything he owned the man had a daughter… one he was extremely protective of.

Annie got to the end of the aisle and beamed up at Fletch. “Hi, Daddy Fletch!” she said loudly. “I’m sooooo ready for you and mommy to get married. I mean, you’re already sleeping in the same bed, so that won’t change, but now mommy will be ‘Fletch’ too.”
Stoker, Susan. Marrying Emily (Delta Force Heroes Book 4) (Kindle Locations 250-268). Stoker Aces Production, LLC. Kindle Edition.

You’d think I was at an actual wedding the way I blubbered as I read them saying their vows. A beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

Of course their reception wasn’t typical at all, everyone dressed comfortably instead of in the formal attire. I couldn’t believe how many characters made an appearance in this. Just about everyone was there, Fletch’s team, the guys from Seals of Protection and their families, even Tex attended with his family. As was Penelope (“the Army Princess”) and Moose and TJ Rockwell from Texas Heroes.

We learn more about all of them and meet a couple of new folks as well over the course of the reception, which has a surprise of it’s own.

This is a must read, but then all of Susan’s books are a must read for me.

Hannah Armstrong, the new principal of Santana High School is a complete ball buster, so Mack Garner, her drama teacher, thinks. Her cutbacks to his department’s budget will force him to scrimp on his students—something he refuses to do. The stubborn woman won’t listen to reason so he’s taking matters into his own hands. He devises a plan to secretly replenish the money that is surefire, as long as he’s not found out. By stripping under the stage name The Dom and using an ironclad disguise at Iron Rods, Austin’s only strip club for women, he and his hard body will have his program flush again and soon.

But Hannah Armstrong has secrets of her own. The rigid, by-the-rules school administrator harbors dark desires to surrender to the titillation of BDSM. She needs a man—a real man—who can melt her inhibitions and master her. Exploring the lifestyle is a dangerous proposition for a small town principal though. Any whiff of scandal would destroy her career. She’s nearly given up on the dream until she meets a masked Dom at Iron Rods. The gorgeous male stripper so far away in Austin seems like the perfect solution. Is there a chance she can satisfy her furtive fantasies without being discovered?

Winter Blog Review

We first saw Bron the Dom at the competition for the new dancer hires. Masked and mysterious, he easily won a place. His goal is simple, make money to fund the drama program at his school and help pay for the field trip the club is planning. That’s right folks, he’s keeping his identity a secret because he’s a teacher and his real name is Mack.

Now Hannah is a different story, she is the principal where Mack teaches. She is responsible for the cuts to the drama program. She has her sites on Mack using his other degree, the Math one to teach summer school so those seniors accepted into college will graduate.

Before Mack agrees to teaching he wants her to beg him, just like he begged for her not to cut his funding. He gets a lot more than he expected with that one. This is a favorite scene.

“All right, “she said on a sigh. “As you wish. Please, please, please teach math this summer.”

“No, no, no. You have to put some heart behind it,” Garner insisted, his fist pounding her desk. “I won’t agree to do anything unless I believe you’re sincere. I’m a trained actor, so it had better be good.”

“Seriously?” “I want to be convinced you really mean it. Otherwise, no deal.”

The muscles in her back and shoulders tightened. Oh, I’ll give you convincing, all right. You want me to beg? I’ll give you the begging performance of the century. You’ll hand me an Oscar when I’m through, you insolent son of a bitch. She regarded the man so many people adored and reminded herself of her primary mission— dig the school out of its “Improvement Required” status— then closed her eyes.

Drawing in a breath, she cleared her mind of everything except the one man who had already mastered her in many private fantasies. The elusive being to whom she would willingly submit. Willingly beg.

The Dom of her dreams. He, the powerful male both strong and gentle, waited in shadowy relief in her mind’s eye. Though darkness masked his face, she could make out the flogger in his hand. Its many strips of leather dangled from a wooden handle.

Her Master raised the tool.

“Touch the tresses. Feel how soft they are.”

His voice, low and steady, enveloped her as if being wrapped in a comforting blanket, shielding her from any doubts and fears.

“Yes, Sir.” She leaned forward, her arm outstretched.

“On your knees,” he instructed. “When I hold this flogger, you must always be on your knees to touch it. You will show my most favorite tool proper and unfailing respect. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Sir.” Naked and unafraid, she fell to both knees before him, and then ran her fingers through the long pieces of lambskin. Unimaginably supple, the tresses were like velvet to the touch.

“Place your hands on the floor.”

Without a moment’s hesitation, she did so, splaying her fingers and bracing herself.

Her shadow Master moved behind her, trailing the ends of the leather strips down her bare back and onto her ass. Her nerves, heightened and tingling with expectancy, danced beneath every inch of her skin. Her body ached, truly ached, to feel the biting sting of the tresses.

“Now beg,” he ordered. “Beg me to do what I know you want. What I know you need.”

Hannah’s eyelids flew open, taking in Mack Garner. As though still in her dream, her mouth moved unbidden and gave voice to words originating from her very soul.

“Please. Oh, God, please,” she pleaded on an exhale, desperation tingeing her tone. “I want this so badly. I need this. Please, do this for me.”

The smirk on Garner’s face melted. His cheeks sagged. With the exception of the dazed look glazing his eyes, which were now the size of baseballs, his face transformed to a blank slate.

“Sincere enough for you, Mr. Garner?” she asked.

“Uhh,” Garner muttered before visibly swallowing. “Tha… that works for me.” He shuffled back a step and tripped over his own booted feet. His hand shot out for the back of the chair, but missed the mark. He nearly fell ass over elbows to the floor before awkwardly regaining his balance.
Brenna Zinn. Unmasked Secrets (Kindle Locations 481-512). Brenna Zinn.

And then things really get interesting as Mack sees her at the club. She’s there because of her sister’s bachelorette party. It’s here we find out her secret desires.

Hot, sexy, funny with enough tension to keep it all very intriguing. Don’t miss the special bonus chapter at the end!

I remember reading about Texas in an Illinois grade school and thinking I probably would never see the great state where real cowboys ride their horses to work every day and everyone wears western hats and boots. Then again, I never dreamed I would elope in Gibraltar with a Navy man who hailed from the Lone Star state. But here I am, smack dab in the middle of Texas, still married to the same wonderful man and boasting not only the greatest daughter on the planet, but three dogs that are as big as long horns.

In between grade school and now, my journey through life has taken me all over the United States, as well as many places throughout the world. Using my travel experience as a guide and peppering in interesting characters I’ve met along the way, I love nothing better than weaving tales of romance and leaving readers yearning for adventures of their own.

When it comes to games, he has mastered every rule, on and off the field.

After sneaking off to have the hottest sex of her life with Dominic Cordes, the insanely sexy pitcher for Miami’s major league baseball team, Lily Phillips can’t imagine ever facing the man again. She acted completely out of character. But there’s no way to avoid seeing him three months later at the wedding of their mutual friends.

Dominic hasn’t forgotten a single moment with the tiny blonde who submitted to him so thoroughly that night. He should have called. Now he will have to face her wrath.

The steam between them hasn’t abated, but starting a relationship proves nearly impossible between Lily’s inexperience as a submissive, their hectic schedules, and an ex-boyfriend who does everything in his power to interfere.

Is it worth it? When they’re together, the world stops. But reality keeps threatening to tear them apart.

Winter Blog Review

Lily was nervous about seeing Dominic again. He never called and neither did she, figuring it was better left as a one night thing. It was Zia and Brett’s wedding and the rehearsal dinner would the first time she would see him.

Unfortunately or fortunately however you choose to look at it, the attraction is still there. Instant and hot, it fuels a fire only Dominic with his controlling ways could quench.

However, Lily is afraid, not only of her reactions but also her ex-boyfriend. Luke seems to have taken up following her and taking pictures of her and Dominic. The worst were the texts and the threat to make them public if she continues to see him. This is part of the scene where he is trying to convince her to fess up.

Trying to catch her breath, she headed for the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water.

Downing half of it, she plopped down on the couch and then groaned when her purse buzzed again.

Snaking her hand out to pull the cell from the outer pocket, she lifted it nearly unwillingly to her face.

Luke: I see you followed my directions. Now make that the last time you ever see Dominic Cordes.

She lowered the phone to her lap, closed her eyes, and took another drink.

What the hell was she going to do? Living her life permanently manipulated by Luke Vandergriff wasn’t the answer. But so far, she didn’t have a better one, and trying to solve this problem on Zia’s wedding day had been out of the question.

There were more texts. She simply didn’t have the energy to read them yet.

When the phone rang, she flinched. She lifted it up, saw that it was Dominic, and decided it would be easier to take the call than send it to voice mail. He was a persistent man. He wouldn’t give up. A part of her was glad.

“Hey.” She spoke softly.

“You make it home okay?” His voice was calm. Concerned.

“Yes.”

“You want to talk about it?”

“My drive home?” she joked.

He laughed. “Well, we can discuss that if you want too. But I thought maybe if I wasn’t standing in your personal space, it might be easier to open up to me.”

“You can’t let this go, can you?”

“Nope.”

“How do you know I have a problem, anyway? You don’t know me at all. Maybe I’m just a bitch and I changed my mind about you. Maybe I decided I don’t like the way you dominate me.”

“No. That’s not it…” he said, as if they were attempting to solve a mystery together.

She giggled, in spite of herself. The smallest shred of relaxation filtered through her body. She was alone in her apartment. Luke couldn’t see her. He had no idea she was on the phone with Dominic. She was safe. For now.

“Lily, I know we haven’t spent much time together, but I like you. And I’m pretty good at reading people. You like me too. You’re curious. You want to explore the possibilities. It’s reasonable that you would be a little scared. But you’re intrigued. I’m going to go out on a confident, cocky limb here and say that whatever has you spooked has nothing to do with me.

“You have a personal problem. It started with a disturbing text. Someone is sick or dying or lost or something. Though I haven’t figured out why you can’t tell me about it. I’m not an ass. I can listen. Maybe I can help. But give me a chance. Don’t shut me out.”
Becca Jameson. Catching Lily (Kindle Locations 982-1005). Becca Jameson.

With plenty of persistence and a lot of patience Dominic finally gets the story out of her. Finally convincing her to take legal action.

Even with the restraining order, Luke continues his stalking of Lily with threatening texts and letters. Wearing on both of them as the season starts for Dominic. The time apart also gives Lily a chance to investigate this submissive side of her and visit the Zodiac Club to observe.

Once again Becca has taken us on a journey of finding the submissive within. I truly love her Dominants. They have the patience and strength to teach and are rewarded with the best gift of all… submission.

All of that and a surprising twist.

Red Hot Pleasures
Lia Davis
Both men are perfect, sexy, and have captured her heart. Things heat up when they reveal they want a ménage a trois. But could one night of passion turn into a lifetime of pleasure?

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Tessa accepted a date with Hunter, the contractor hired to redesign her office space, now she is having second thoughts. Her best friend, Jake, has returned to town and she really wants to know where things could lead with him. Unfortunately she still really wants both of them.

This is a favorite scene where Hunter and Jake realize they not only want each other but Tessa as well.

Jake wiggled his fingers into Hunter’s fist and squeezed his hand. “I wish I could have been there for you. With you. I feel awful for being angry all this time now that I know the truth.”

“You had every right to be angry. By the time I pulled my head out my ass, I figured the damage was done, and it was too late for me to call.” Hunter unfolded his hand and linked his fingers with Jake’s. “The last thing I wanted was to hurt you.”

“I fell in love with you that summer,” Jake admitted softly. “I think I still am.”

A spark reignited the flame Jake had started in Texas. Hope bloomed, and Hunter wondered if Jake would want to share Tessa. “I want to start over. With you and Tessa.”

A smile formed on Jake’s mouth, and damn if Hunter didn’t want to lean in and claim those lips. “Tessa will take some convincing.”

Hunter brought Jake’s hand up to place a kiss in his palm. “Or at least convince her so whole-heartedly— and with such intense pleasure— that she won’t want to say no.”

Old Flame Burns Again

Valentine’s Day just got a lot more interesting. At dinner with his wife, her former roommate, Lisa, joins them. Rekindling their lesbian relationship, the women include a new male member.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

This one starts off hot and doesn’t cool down. From the moment Ben meets his wife Diane’s college roommate and lover he knew things were going to change. When Diane goes to meet Lisa for lunch he couldn’t stop thinking of them this is just snippet from when she arrives home.

I was so lost in thought I didn’t hear the door open.”Ben? You didn’t have to wait up.”

My head turned at the sound of her voice. My wife. Mine. Not Lisa’s. Imagination might get the better of me, but I could fight it with reality, the solid, warm body of Diane. I ran to wrap my arms around her.

She stiffened at my abruptness. “What is wrong?”

I took her cheeks in my hands, kissing her. “Nothing, just driving myself crazy.” I ran my hands through my hair and took off my glasses. “I haven’t been able to get the two of you out of my head all night.”

She wrapped her hand around my hard-on. “You were thinking about us? Come to bed. Let me show you.”
Angelica Dawson. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 1328-1334). After Glows.

If your kindle isn’t melting it should be. This one is mostly the coming together of these three characters.

I think I would have liked a bit more story with all the action though.

Love for Her Billionaires
Auriella Skye

Sandy has a problem. Two of them. She’s fallen for her bosses. Jacob and Jonathan are rich, sexy, and smart. An irresistible trifecta. This alpha duo is ready to show Sandy the nights of passion that await her, but can she get them to love her for a lifetime?

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Sandy was nervous, she had her exit interview with the billionaire brothers marking the end of her internship. Still holding on to the hope she would be kept on she began her interview.

This is just a small part of that scene.

“Do you know why we asked you here, Sandy?”

“For my exit interview and possibly a future job with you?” I held out hope that I hadn’t completely fucked myself over with my big mouth. A miracle probably had to happen, though.

Jon stroked my hand, and the sensation made my pussy clench. “In part, yes,” he said. “You are here for future possibilities. We wanted to see if you were the right candidate for a new position we’re in need of.”

“I’m confused, sir.” There I was on the brink of becoming an emotional wreck, or at least in the midst of one, and they were still considering me.

“Call us Jon and Jacob,” Jon said with a smile. “For now, anyways.” His voice had an edge to it that promised something just below the surface. Something I both desired and dreaded. Desire was winning out.

“It’s simple,” Jacob said. “We’ve had you in mind for this particular job for a while, but we needed to be sure first.”

“Sure about what?” I asked. I was distracted by Jon’s touch. My body was calming down by being so close to him, and the petting was certainly helping. His hand was strong, warm, and surprisingly soft. All of my focus zoned in on Jon’s contact, and I reveled in the intimacy of it. I was barely paying attention to the words they were saying to me.

Jacob leaned forward on his desk so he had my attention. “I’m going to ask you a question first, and you need to be honest with us. We don’t approve of liars in our company. Understand?”

I nodded, feeling the tension creep back inside of me.

“What’s the most important reason you want to remain here at Sims Innovative Industries?”

I thought about things most people would say, but I only had one reason, two of them really. That seemed so embarrassing to admit, but I chose honesty.

“I want to stay because of you two,” I said. My voice was shaky, and I wasn’t sure they heard me.

“Elaborate,” Jacob said, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms.

Jon stroked my hand with a steadier pace and nodded to urge me on.

“I first visited this building a little over a year ago, at the end of my senior year,” I said. I took my time with my words. “It was a college tour that brought me here. I met both of you that day, and afterward, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. I didn’t want to go anywhere else.”

They probably thought I was some silly fangirl with a crush on them like most of the women who threw themselves at their feet, but they had asked for honesty, so I gave it to them.

“I’m sure you wouldn’t remember,” I said. I avoided their stares, but the weight of their eyes stayed on me even when I couldn’t see them.

“We remember,” Jacob said.
Auriella Skye. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 2093-2094). After Glows.

I didn’t know what I expected to happen but it certainly surprised me. Jon and Jacob went straight to what they desired the most, her.

This one was so hot I had to stop reading to let my kindle cool down for a bit.

Two on One Breakaway
Cassandra Carr

Haley has never been in a menage relationship before, but these two men make a great case for trying it. Both dote on her, support her, and keep her topmost in their priorities. Never before has Haley experienced this kind of love, and she’s becoming addicted. But will this Valentine’s Day be a happy one, or will all three lose their chance at a happy-ever-after?

Winter Blog ReviewSm

When his friend and teammate Ian gets traded, Derek misses the camaraderie they had shared. Not only on the ice but in the women they shared. As such his game suffers and he finds himself traded to join Ian in Buffalo.

Hailey has been seeing Ian for a couple of months and she is aware of the type of relationship he wants with her. One where he shares her with Derek. She is keeping an open mind and even as things heat up she has some doubts. This is a favorite scene after they have spent some time together outside of their respective homes.

“I’m an old-fashioned kind of girl.” She smiled self-consciously. “Well, in a lot of ways. As I was saying, I think these quick meetings—”

“Dates,” Ian corrected.

“Dates,” she repeated. “Because we’ve been on all these shorter dates usually involving food, which I’m a fan of, so feel free to continue with that…” She hesitated. “I feel like we’ve actually gotten to know each other much more.”

Derek nodded. “I agree.” He still wasn’t ready to commit too much until he heard more from her point of view and whether or not she could really do this ménage thing.

“It’s strange,” she continued. “To be honest, I thought it might be really weird, doing this. When Ian first brought up the subject, I wasn’t sure what to think. Even when you got here, I have to admit to being skeptical about how this relationship would work. But it’s not like I’m dating two guys. I mean, I am, though it’s not like I have to keep you apart, make sure neither of you knows about the other. You sanction this whole thing. It was your idea in the first place.”

“We’ve been interested in ménage since we became friends,” Derek answered.

“I know. Ian told me.”

He glanced at Ian. “And how are you finding this whole thing?”

She seemed to consider her words carefully before speaking. “Like I said, at first, I had my doubts. At this point, though, I’m having fun. You guys are both great, and you’ve been good to me. I especially appreciate that you’re not expecting me to jump into bed with you for some crazy sex games or anything.”

Ian coughed. “What exactly are your impressions about ménage relationships? In our experience, they’re not that different as far as most of the parts of the relationship go.”

But the sex is so much better. Derek licked his lips.

“You can’t blame me for having preconceived ideas. I’ve read stories and stuff.”

“Let us set you straight. You’re with both of us. Neither expects to be the frontrunner, so to speak. These relationships work best when jealousy doesn’t enter the picture,” Derek explained. He hoped Haley would feel good about things if they were able to allay any of her fears.

She nodded slowly. “I can understand that.”

“So we just keep going as we are, getting to know more about each other,” Ian said. “No pressure.

As Derek makes his place within the ranks of the team, his interest in Hailey also increases. Both he and Ian know they have found the one, now to convince her.I love the going slow, the building of the relationship between them. Triad
Kim Carmichael

When a sexy alien crash lands on their planet, a couple in search of their third never dreamed this warrior might be the one they both need. Now the three must fight for their Triad.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

When Talbot awoke from suspension, his pilot and mate did not. Heartbroken he is talked through the landing by the Mersennean Officials. What he didn’t expect was to be so taken by Kenna, an authority on traditions. It was more than that too. He was also attracted to Lucas her one mate. Their bond was not complete since they had lost the other member of their Triad before they could be bonded.

Now they had to decide whether or not to buck tradition and bond, or would Talbot just leave. This is a favorite scene as Kenna runs from her emotions.

She stood with her back facing them, arms crossed over her chest and looking up. Sure enough, against the pink sky was Femkat, its rings just starting to glow with Helia lowering in the sky. “They said many eons ago Femkat had a satellite all its own. Then one day, long before we had the imagery to capture it, a comet crashed into the little satellite, shattering it to pieces. Rather than destroy Femkat, the debris surrounded our moon, melded together to create the different colors, and graced it with the ribbons. Out of destruction came something glorious.”

He took her hand. She held him tight.

Talbot took his position behind them and wrapped his arms around their shoulders pulling them to him. “Then I would say that after my near crash landing onto your planet, something magnificent came out of that.”

Both he and Kenna turned to Talbot making a little circle.

“The rings will always be there,” she whispered.

Talbot brushed the back of his hand along her cheek. “That’s not true. You and I both know that one day eons from now they’ll dissipate and eons from then, those looking up at Femkat won’t believe there was ever a moment in time where ribbons of color wound around their moon.”

A tear streamed down her cheek. “Do you know that every Helia cycle we have a celebration of the rings? We just appreciate them.”

He wiped her tear away. “Then maybe, since we don’t know how long the rings of anything else will be there, we simply celebrate the time we have?”

“Tal–”

Before she said anything else, he cut her off by putting his finger over her lips.

“We don’t know anything but what is right now.” As if to send her his message, Talbot widened his eyes.

Lucas nodded. The way Talbot dealt with their female definitely confirmed the position they bestowed upon him.

“Do you think we can celebrate being together, since that is what is happening right now?” Their vertex bent down and gave her a kiss.

The way Kenna melted into Talbot stirred something deep inside Lucas.

Watching them together both aroused and comforted him.

When Talbot pulled back, she looked up at him with glazed over eyes. “We can do that.”

Lucas expected no less of an answer from Kenna. She would listen to her males when it came to such matters.

“Then I say we leave. I just want to be with the two of you.” Talbot led the way back to the vehicle, instantly falling into the role he craved and coveted, but for how long?
Kim Carmichael. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 5555-5582). After Glows.

The right decisions made at the right time make for an explosive coming together.

A powerful story of love, desire, and fighting for what you believe in.

Her Valentine Surprise
N Kuhn

When Carissa can’t decide between the two men in her life, they come up with a surprise that gives Valentine’s Day a whole new meaning…

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Carissa didn’t want to choose, she couldn’t. The two men in her life were very different and each filled a space in her heart.

Kent and JP had met, and decided they liked each other enough to give a ménage relationship a go. Of course Carissa would need to agree to it all as well.

This is a favorite scene as Carissa thinks she has to choose.

“We aren’t saying you need to pick one of us Rissy. We want to see if a weekend together can be… workable.”JP strung his fingers together, webbing them as he spoke. He used his hands often when he spoke as if to amplify everything he said. Raising an eyebrow in confusion, she shifted her gaze back to Kent for clarification.

“What would you say to spending a weekend together? We can see about working a relationship between the three of us. Then you won’t have to choose anyone or feel bad. No one would be left out. JP and I, we get along well. We have you in common. We both love you more than anything, and neither of us is willing to part with you.”

“Yeah. We figured, there has got to be a way we can all get what we want. Kent and I have spent a lot of time together, and to be honest, this idea rocks. It’s the best of all worlds. Plus, he has a kick ass house. I wouldn’t mind crashing there. And it’s like, your Valentine’s Day surprise! This way, we both get to see you.”

Kent shook his head, laughing quietly at JP’s enthusiasm. Carissa watched as he laid a hand on JP’s knee, patting it in a way he did with her constantly. It was true. Kent was successful in all areas of life. The neighborhood he lived in was in a much nicer area than Carissa’s, where the homes cost more than some made in a lifetime. The marble floors were her favorite. She enjoyed sliding around in socks wearing only his shirts. Thoughts of the fun she and JP could have while Kent worked ran through her mind. There was a large backyard. They could have picnics, grow gardens, swim in the massive pool and more. He had more rooms than she could count. Hell, she wasn’t sure she had even seen them all yet.

Fingers snapped in her face, drawing her back to reality where she looked at Kent again.

“You really mean it? I won’t have to lose either of you?” The hope in her voice was almost unbearable, undoing Kent’s strong demeanor, fraying it like an old sweater. He nodded, afraid to speak, his throat closed as he sympathized with her pain.

She was worried about losing them, but he was afraid to lose her. True, he’d spent some time with JP lately, and they’d had fun and realized they each loved her more than life itself.

This just had to work. He didn’t want to think of what would happen if they lost her. Seeing the smile on her face at his suggestion was enough to spring hope in his heart. They would make this work. No matter what. Her eyes sparkled as she moved from the floor to the couch. Wedging between her guys, she wrapped herself in their arms as they discussed the weekend plans.
N Kuhn. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 6137-6160). After Glows.

Kent as a Dom, had never considered a male sub but the weekend proved enlightening. Now to take it all home.

A sensual tale bringing the heat of Ménage to reality.

Heart Of Glass
Riley Murphy

After an angry woman pelts their office building with stones, two strong-willed men devise a challenge. The goal? To turn the gorgeous interloper into a very close friend. Normally, this would be cakewalk, but too late they discover their feminine quarry is the key to solving their much-needed corporate dilemma.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

When Wesley Henderson walked in on her boyfriend Keith screwing her bestfriend and roommate on HER bed it was over as far as she was concerned. Everything over the relationship and their future business. Of course he threatens her with blackballing her in the advertising industry, a threat he couldn’t follow through on, but he does cause her problems.Ty Ellington and his partner Sandy Tramaine have a problem. A pretty redheaded problem. Everry day she comes to their building and throws stones at the huge, very expensive advertising mural decorating the side. Today is the day Ty is going to confront her and find out way. This is a favorite scene.

With Sandy’s warning playing in my head about not spooking her, I called, “Good morning.”

She didn’t look at me. “Are you security?”

“No.” I stopped a few feet from her, letting my gaze rove over her as she continued to throw her missiles. She pitched them like a guy which was kind of a turn-on.

“Do you work here?”

I guess I could say yes. It wouldn’t be lying, it just wouldn’t be telling the whole truth. “I do.”

Finally she paused from throwing the last stone to give me the once over. “Well, I know you’re not The Snake. He has black hair and an even blacker expression. The guy’s a real egomaniac. Most days when he enters the building, he pretends like I’m not even here. When he does deign to give me the side-eye, it’s usually by way of a glare.”

I knew she was talking about Sandy, but I pretended like I didn’t. “The Snake?”

“The owner. He drives a black car too. A Mercedes.”

It was a Jaguar actually. I would have corrected her if I wasn’t so caught up by the gleam in her eyes. Green eyes. Light though, like the color of Granny Smith apples only translucent. “Ah…” I drew out. Was this a case of a woman scorned? “He’s done something to offend you, I take it. And it’s more than ignoring your presence some mornings?” I fished for info.

She shrugged and then turned to eye the wall again, examining it as if she was trying to find the perfect spot to hit. “Yes and no. F!” she exclaimed, launching the last stone.

So that’s what she was doing. Spelling out her gripe with the rocks to physically purge her frustrations. “F?”

“Yep.” She took a deep breath and then spoke the next letters as fast as a child would when reciting their ABC’s.

“Keithvegaisathief.” I wasn’t quick enough decoding the message when she did it for me. “Keith. Vega. Is. A. Thief.”

The name sounded familiar, but I couldn’t immediately place it so I moved on to the one thing she did say, that worried me. “That’s not the name of the man who drives the black car.”

“Oh, I know.” She tugged down her sleeves and smiled. The natural action that brightened her cheeks was pleasing, until I realized it was an underlying fury that pinned that mock-pleasant expression on her face. “But he is the bastard who sent me the cease and desist letter. He took that creep’s word without giving me the chance to defend myself.”

She looked away and after a few seconds, she looked back. “I’m sorry. I must sound like a witch.” This time when she smiled it was genuine. “I’m Wesley Henderson, and I promise, I’m not quite as crazy as I appear.” She offered her hand.

After I accepted, and we shook on it, she said, “I’m almost through the death stages. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and this last one,” She curtly nodded toward the mural, “Acceptance.”

She sounded so blasé, I had to laugh. I shot a look to the wall and then raised a brow at her. “The rock shower is what you call acceptance?”

“Yes.”

The way she stared up at me, with a half-smile hovering over her lips and those green eyes dancing with an enigmatic challenge suddenly concerned me. Why? The woman was someone I wanted to get to know much better. Far from the mystery box being spoiled when opened as Sandy had suggested, it was now clear to me her mystic was a force I wanted to embrace. Preferably under a thick blanket on a cool California night.

“I mean, I’m only throwing stones, but…” She pointed right at me. “If there was a God, that building would be made out of glass. You know what I’m saying?”

She was smart all right. “I’m familiar with the idiom.”

“Great.” Her smile was blinding. “Because the idiot that owns that building deserves to be punished.”

Ironic. Punishments were right up Sandy’s alley. The one qualifier? He favored giving them, and not receiving. Meh. That was his mountain to climb with her. I had my own. “What did this Kevin— or was his name Keith— person, steal from you? If you don’t mind me asking.”

She looked down and negligently toe-kicked a couple of the rocks while she seemed to be deciding whether or not to trust me. It was a sobering experience and caused me to respect her all the more for her caution.

“My work.” She looked up and before she could hide it, I saw the worry. It was there in her eyes.

“What kind of—?”

“Oh boy. It’s got to be past eight. I’ve got to go. It was nice talking with you.”
Riley Murphy. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 6833-6877). After Glows.

Now the partners have a couple of problems. One their desire for the red-headed beauty, the other their Ad agency isn’t delivering on the product.

This story heats up in many ways, I love the way it unfurls in
a perfect blend of love, sizzling sex and karma.

Three is a Charm
Amy Brent

Two HOT Billionaires, One Curvy Girl – Eve needs to start over in her new job and these two brothers are just the challenge she needs.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Eve thought she had screwed up her interview with Dominic Weston. She couldn’t help thinking about that one night four years before when she gave herself to him.

Dominic didn’t want to hire Eve for the same reason she thought she messed up the interview. He wanted her even more now than he had when she was eighteen.

Their relationship renews even as they keep it from her parents, her father would never understand his friend with his daughter. What neither expected was her interest in his brother Malcolm.

A favorite scene is when she is reintroduced to Malcolm.

The same girl who Malcolm himself had just been undressing with his eyes.

“Whatever you say, Malcolm,” Dominic laughed. “Anyway, Eve and I have some work to do, so if you don’t mind letting us do that, I’d appreciate it.”

“Sure thing,” he said, reaching for my hand. I assumed Malcolm was going to shake it, but instead, he brought it to his lips and kissed my knuckles. “Great seeing you again, Eve. Perhaps we can grab coffee sometime – ”

“Stop hitting on my employee, Malcolm.” Dominic was laughing, however, so I knew it wasn’t a serious threat. Still, I could see the faint shadow of jealousy on his face.

Dominic was jealous of Malcolm. Which meant that somewhere, deep down, he cared enough about our little arrangement – or about me – to be jealous in the first place.

Just for fun, I decided to play along. “I’d love to, Malcolm. Maybe this weekend?”

“I’ll call you,” Malcolm said with a wink before walking toward the front door. “And I’ll call you too, brother. But not for the same reasons, of course.”

“I sure as hell hope not,” Dominic grumbled.

His jaw was clenched tight and his posture was stiff. As he opened the front door for Malcolm, I could see a shared look between them. It was subtle, but the look was one in which Dominic was asking Malcolm to lay off. As if I was his property and he’d laid claim to me already.

Maybe it shouldn’t have, but it made me bristle. I was no one’s property, nor would I ever be.

Dominic, of course, had other ideas. As soon as he closed the door, shutting his brother out, he came over to me and grabbed my face in his hands, forcing me to stare into his eyes.

“You want to fuck him?” he growled.

“Maybe? What business is it of yours?” I teased.

“I can make that happen,” he said, his hand moving underneath my skirt and up my thigh. “It wouldn’t be the first time we’d shared a girl before.”
Amy Brent. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 9148-9169). After Glows.

This relationship goes from slow and sensuous to a magnificent threesome with a bit of kink.

No declarations of love but damn they have a way of showing how much they care. I kind of wished they had been caught by her parents, if this is going to be more than a fling that has to happen.

Poor White Trash
Sara Wylde

One from the gutter, one from the clouds, the other from a tower in between. Three lost puzzle pieces that didn’t fit on their own might just find the beauty in the bigger picture together.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Charlotte is trying to fit in with the rest of the elite that populates their Hall on Campus. The latest challenge handed out by the Pandora, the leader of this pack is to sleep with the guy whose name you draw.

Charlotte had no problem with that idea, especially when she sees she drew Vance Tinsley-Yates aka The Brat Prince. Hell it’s on her bucket list. However, her protector and friend Jace doesn’t like this idea at all.

This is a favorite scene between Vance and Charlotte with a peek at Pandora’s personality.

She didn’t know how Vance knew, but the way the expression on his face changed, he knew exactly what she was thinking.

“Look, your Charlotte likes the idea.”

“She’s not my Charlotte,” he growled.

“Isn’t she? You rushed over here to lay your claim, didn’t you?” Vance still hadn’t broken eye contact with her. It was as if Jace didn’t concern him in the least.

“No. She’s not mine. She belongs to herself, but you will treat her with respect.”

This time he looked back to Jace. “How have I treated her otherwise? Because I’m going to take her back to my room, if she’d like to come.” That self-satisfied smile was back. “And I’m going to make her scream my name in three languages. Maybe yours, too? I’d say it’s a gift.”

“You would.”

“Jace,” she began again, unsure of what to say.

“Make him at least take you to dinner.” It sounded as if it hurt him to say it.

“That kind of nullifies the whole point of the one-night stand,” Charlotte whispered.

“Fine. You do whatever you want. You always do.” Jace turned away from her. “You know where I am if you need me.”

Pandora’s laughter trilled. “Oh, he’s a dear, isn’t he? How did poor white trash like that ever get into Ridgemont Hall? Rather ugly beast, isn’t he?”

“Well, Pandy,” Vance drawled. “I’d fuck him before I’d fuck you. So do with that what you will.”

She’d been ready to jump to his defense, to chew Pandora’s face off, social suicide be damned. But Vance took care of that for her.

Pandora rolled her eyes. “You’d fuck him for the novelty alone. Run along, now, dollies. Can’t have you lingering in the common area, or no one else will go up. Then all the fun will be over before it begins.”

“Pandora, I do believe you have other guests to harass.”

As soon as she was gone, Charlotte got a sinking feeling in her gut. She knew what she was going to do. It wasn’t at all what she wanted to do.

She couldn’t stand the tone in his voice. The way he made it so clear without even saying so that he was disappointed in her.

“I’m sorry, Vance. I should probably…” She motioned to the stairs.

“Are you sure?”

“No, but—” She finished the sentence with a shrug.

“One more thing,” he said, reaching for her hand. “What if I did take you out? On a real date.”

“Like I told Jace, it defeats the purpose of this one and done thing.” She smiled. “It’s on my bucket list.”

“Here’s what. I like you. I like your curiosity. There’s a softness about you that none of these other girls have. A sparkle. I’m intrigued. I’m also the biggest manwhore on campus. Aside from Wrathboner and Dane. I think we’re tied.” He seemed to consider. “Let’s agree to get to know each other. No strings. We’ll both continue our other pursuits as we choose.”

“I’ll consider it.” She exhaled heavily. “Look, Jace and I are a package deal. If you get me, you get him.”

“Maybe you’ll tell me more about that sometime. Like dinner on Wednesday night.”

“Okay.” Charlotte had not only dipped her toe in the waters, but she’d jumped into the deep end.
Sara Wylde. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 10131-10166). After Glows.

When I think about it this story is less about Charlotte and more about Jace. He is the one with the past, the one sent to school by Charlotte’s parents in gratitude for saving their little girl’s life. It’s his past and his anger that keep him away from Charlotte.

Everything heats up quickly from this point, not only with Charlotte and Jace but also Jace and Vance.

If there is going to be a them, Charlotte and Vance need to break down Jace’s walls. Not an enviable task.

I loved the progression from anger to love and back again. I think I’d like to see more of the trio.

A Valentine’s Deal
TL Reeve

An interview will only take an hour, but what Sullivan and Carter offer Sierra can last a lifetime.

Winter Blog ReviewSm

Sierra was angry at her boss. She’d put in to take off Valentine’s day for a reason. She was tired of the hype of the day and only wanted to curl up with some wine, and a good book. Her boss would have none of it, he wanted this Valentine’s day story and she was the only one who could do it justice.

Sullivan wasn’t happy with his partner Carter, Wolfsbane is a paranormal club and although humans are allowed this interview and subsequent story would bring many more to the club. A club where paranormals could possibly find their true mate.

However the publicity for this Masquerade event would do much for the club and help put the building’s past into history where it belongs.

This is a favorite scene when the three meet for the initial interview.

Every single inch of her came to life in a wash of arousal and lust. The woodsy scent emanating from him fueled her desire, leaving her a bit dizzy and hypnotized.

“You must be from the Los Angeles Daily. It’s good to meet you.” Her cheeks heated the moment his lips brushed across her knuckles. He glanced up at her, and the devilish twinkle in his eyes sent a thrill of longing through her. The corner of his mouth curled into a predatory, panty-soaking smirk. “I didn’t leave you waiting long, I hope.”

British. The accent added a bit more to his sex appeal. But still, she guarded herself. Didn’t need to go climbing him like a tree during the middle of their meeting— even if the idea sound good right about now. Is it hot in here, or is it just me?

She flicked her gaze to him, and he gave her a wicked grin.

Caught. Shit.

She shook her head, almost afraid to speak. “No, not at all. This is Jerry, my assistant.” The breathy quality of her voice irritated her. No one got under her skin. It’d been a quality she prided herself on, and in less than five minutes, he had.

“Good to meet you.” He shook her partner’s hand. “Sullivan is a little tied up at the moment, but he’ll be here shortly.” Carter ushered them into his office. “I have to say; this is one of the first interviews we’ve granted for the club and this building.”

“Well, the building is steeped in history.” She gazed around the masculine, industrial space. Unlike the hall, this area had the original brick and mortar façade. Steel and wood shelving lined the side walls, while a giant oak desk dominated the space. To the left, another couch like she’d been sitting on in the waiting area faced her, along with a small coffee table and an entertainment center. The room fit the man in front of her. “Most of it is bad though.”

He nodded. “It’s a tragedy.” Carter lowered his voice and leaned forward. “I’ll let you in on a little secret.”

She crept closer, drawn in by the raspy tone of his voice.

“I didn’t think the club would work. I thought we’d be shut down and forced out within the first six months of business.” He pointed to the richly finished, walnut sideboard. “Drink?” quick change in conversation.

“Cherry soda.”

“A girl after my own heart.” He opened a fridge she hadn’t seen, and pulled out a can of regular soda, then grabbed the cherry syrup from between the bottles of alcohol. “I’m sorry I don’t have fresh cherries to add to your drink. I hope you don’t mind.”

Heck, she’d been prepared for pre-made soda, she didn’t mind this one bit. After he stirred her drink, he lifted the stirring stick to his mouth and licked the dripping and excess syrup from it. Her heart skipped a beat. Again, the aching throb of her clit intensified. Who the hell was this man?

His admission surprised her, as did the “It’s okay. I would have settled for a can.”

He laughed as he brought her the tumbler. “Anything for you, Jerry?”

Her partner glanced at her, then to Carter. “Water?”

“Sure thing.” He grabbed the bottle from the fridge. “Ice?”

“Nah. I’m good.”

He handed the bottle to her assistant, then took a seat behind the desk. “Where are my manners.” He scoffed and motioned to the wing-backed chairs in front of him. “Please, sit.”

“Was your worry due to the criminal activity or something else?” She sat, easing back into the welcoming comfort.

“Yes, all of it. This building is said to be haunted. Some people come here to” —he made air quotes— “investigate. Others to try and find the burned-out areas of the basement.” He folded his hands. “We’re not here to be a sideshow or to ogled like freaks.”

She frowned. “Does it interfere with your business?”

“The lookie-loos?” He swirled the amber liquid in his glass.

“Yes.”

“I feared they would. However, people have been… courteous.” He glanced up as the door opened. “Ah, you made it. Sullivan, these are our guests.”

The man stopped short and turned his golden gaze on her. Boom. Pregnant. The thought simultaneously surprised her and made her chuckle, which led to embarrassment. She cleared her throat.

“It’s good to meet you. I’m Sierra Hanover, and this is my assistant Jerry Rodrick.” She motioned to her friend. Jesus, what the hell had she gotten herself into?
TL Reeve. A Valentine for Two (Kindle Locations 12090-12135). After Glows.

With Sierra so against the idea of love in general, Sullivan and Carte have their work cut out for them. They figured out she is the one for them now they have to convince her.

This one sizzles off the page with anticipation of what’s to come. We get Sullivan and Carter, then we get to watch them try to woo Sierra. Drink plenty of liquids or you might dehydrate reading.
