When successful businessman Brody Davidson is asked to be groomsman for yet another friend and learns his ex-girlfriend will be maid of honor, he does what any desperate millionaire would do–he hires a date. Convincing the sexy waitress with mile long legs to agree to play his girlfriend is no easy task, despite his promise to her and himself that it’s strictly business. He’s determined to make all decisions with his head instead of his heart to avoid being hurt again.

No matter how many times Amanda Foster runs the numbers, her final year of graduate school will have to wait. She’s already in debt up to her eyeballs. Though she’s learned not to trust guys in suits, how can she say no to spending spring break at the exclusive Indulgences Resort with a ruggedly handsome guy while getting paid for it? Pretending to be Brody’s girlfriend will be no hardship–as long as she remembers it’s just pretend, but her attraction to him is all too real.

Amanda’s already gotten under Brody’s skin. Can he convince her their deal is far more than business, and that he wants her forever, not just the weekend?

I love this kindle world, a fabulous exclusive resort in a tropical setting. What more could you want to fuel your imagination? This is the April indulgence and it’s one of my favorites.

Brody needs a date for his best friend’s wedding, in order to keep his ex (the maid of honor) at bay. Rumor has it she wants him back and will go to any lengths to get him. But he’s done with her, she cheated on him and only wants him for his money.

Amanda knows she probably shouldn’t agree to the deal to go to a wedding with Brody. She really doesn’t know him she’s only waited on him at the bar. She needs the money for her tuition after her father, once again, fails to him his end of the bargain.

This is a favorite scene where Brody tells her about the indulgence requirement of the wedding weekend.

He cleared his throat, telling himself the sooner he got this over, the better. “I discovered some additional…details we need to resolve prior to our arrival.”

“Oh?”

Suspicion clouded her expression. Amanda was no naïve young thing. She was pursuing her MBA at the University of Denver, but she seemed like an old soul. That was one more thing that made him curious about her.

He wondered if something in her past had made her distrustful or if she’d always been that way. It didn’t matter. She was only a passing acquaintance. Nothing more. He certainly didn’t need to know her entire life story in order to convince Christina that he and Amanda were dating.

The plane picked up speed, telling him it was safe to broach the subject. “One of the managers of the resort contacted me. Apparently, the name of the place is more than just a name.”

Amanda frowned. “Indulgences?”

“Exactly.”

“I don’t understand.”

“They specialize in planning ‘indulgences’ for each guest. Or rather, for each couple.”

He could almost see understanding come over her expression, along with a healthy dose of distrust.

“What, like Fantasy Island or something?”

The mention of the popular TV show from the 70’s and 80’s had him grimacing. That was exactly what he’d asked when the manager had called.

“You can’t be serious.” Her husky voice was laced with skepticism.

He paused as the plane ascended, noting Amanda’s lips tighten as she leaned back in her seat. Flying made her uncomfortable, but he appreciated that she controlled her fear. He traveled frequently for business. The sensation of his stomach dropping away was nearly as familiar as the feel of a leather steering wheel beneath his hands.

At last the plane leveled off, heading south.

“Are you saying we have to come up with some sort of fantasy for them to arrange for us?”

Not for the first time, Brody cursed Brian. Of all the places he could’ve held his wedding, did it have to be at Indulgences Resort?

“That’s what I was told.”

“Did you tell them we’re only coming because your friend is getting married there?”

“It doesn’t matter. It’s a requirement for anyone staying at the resort.” He lifted one shoulder in a casual shrug, hoping to downplay the wrinkle. No doubt she thought he’d arranged this to answer some odd sexual fantasy. The idea of doing something of that nature with Amanda had him shifting in his seat. Obviously, he should’ve picked someone less attractive than the woman seated next to him.

“Well then.” Amanda raised her hand to gain the attention of the passing flight attendant. “May I have that other drink, please?”
Williams, Lana. Yours for the Weekend: An April Indulgence (An Indulgences Novella Book 5) (Kindle Locations 174-178). Kindle Edition.

The decision of the indulgence they would have was a source of amusement to me. Camping… Of course Kenderly will take that to an unusual level.

The ex is indeed a barracuda in a dress, creating trouble wherever she can.

The characters are perfect and the way they resolve the issues at hand delightful. Oh and there’s plenty of sexual tension and scenes to make you quiver.

Sexy, lots of fun and overall a enjoyable read!

Blog Tour for Ann Mayburn’s Sweetest Obsession – Book 2 of the Cordova Empire

1cf2a-addtogoodreadsSynopsis

This is a STANDALONE insta-obsession erotic romance set in the Cordova Empire series (no cheating-HEA-no cliffhanger)

Ramon

In my family, there’s an old story going back generations about love at first sight. I used to think it was a fairytale, until I met my sweet Joy. The more I got to know her, the more I wanted her. But the world of the cartels is a dangerous place, so I watched her from afar, wishing things were different and I could claim her for my own. Despite my best efforts to keep her safe, evil found Joy. After she endured a savage beating at the hands of a rival cartel, I vowed to do everything in my power to make her mine and win her heart. I can only pray that when she finds out the truth about me, and the things I’ve done to bind her to me forever, that she’ll be able to love the monster I really am.

Joy

Without a doubt, Ramon Cordova is one of the biggest jerks I’ve ever met. He’s egotistical, bossy, and seems to know how to push all my buttons. Too bad he’s also sinfully handsome, utterly charming when he wants to be, and is the only man I feel safe with. After the attack, I’ve become afraid of the world outside of my home—afraid of crowds, afraid of loud noises, afraid of everything. When I’m in Ramon’s strong arms, those fears melt away. I know there’s a darkness inside of him that he tries to hide, and I’m afraid that when I finally find out the secrets he’s been keeping, he’ll destroy what’s left of my battered heart

review-for-ann-tour

In this the second book of the Cordova Empire we get a glimpse of some of the really dark sides of humanity. Not for the faint of heart and this is definitely not the usual way for a relationship to develop.

I love Joy, she is strong and sexy and insecure all at the same time.

Ramon on the other hand is over-bearing, misogynistic and a torturer for the Cordova family. However, nobody hurts his family and gets away with it and that family includes Joy, even if she doesn’t realize it yet.

Of course one of my favorite scene is in the prologue, before they get together, a scene where Joy is coming to discuss Jacob Roja’s missed tutoring sessions with his parents. There is language but it is necessary.

I smoothed the black blazer I wore over the coffee brown silk shirt, resisting the need to check my hair. As usual, when I was trying to look like a grown up, I had my mass of hair pulled back into a tight, high bun and wore more makeup than usual. For a moment, I considered grabbing my briefcase. It was like a safety blanket for me, a visible icon that said I was a serious businesswoman, but thought it might be overkill for this situation. I was simply going to ask Mr. and Mrs. Roja to please make sure their offspring showed up to his tutoring sessions…otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to afford my books next semester.

Well, I probably shouldn’t mention my tale of financial woe to people with a three-story mansion, but I was out of options.

Wide, grey and white marble steps led up to the dark maroon painted front door of the house. Beautiful cut glass inserts flanked the entrance on either side, and potted flowers added a touch of color.

I pressed the button for the doorbell, mentally berating myself for the crappy condition of my nails with half the pink polish worn off.

When no one answered, I rang again, wondering if anyone was home, or if it just took twenty minutes to walk from one end of the massive place to the other.

I was just getting ready to ring a third time when the door opened with a rush. My breath caught as I took in the man standing before me. Probably in his late twenties, I swear he was the sexiest and most dangerous man I’d ever seen, but the sneer curving his beautiful, full lips wasn’t exactly welcoming.

When I glanced up, I caught a glimpse of his eyes—gorgeous dark brown flecked with amber and green, highlighted by his cinnamon brown skin. He studied me with a cold detachment that made me want to shrink into myself, those intense eyes framed by wide cheekbones and well-arched brows. His dark black hair, long enough that it swept over his forehead, almost covered his eyes as he cocked his head to examine me. I allowed myself a quick darting look down his body, taking in the wide shoulders hidden behind his black, button up shirt, the thick chest, and powerful arms all tapering down to a trim waist. His black dress slacks fit him perfectly and, as he leaned against the doorframe with a bored expression, his gold watch flashed in the sunlight. A hint of a tattoo on the side of his neck peeked through, and I could see the shadowy suggestion of more ink on his wrists that trailed down to the back of his left hand in the form of a stylized climbing rose vine.

Across his square jaw, he had a thick, dark shadow that only grown men got when they haven’t shaved in a few days.

Damn, he was sexy, dangerous catnip to any woman with a single working hormone in her body.

Then he totally ruined my pervy fantasy by opening his mouth. “What do you want?”

His lightly accented, harsh tone and arrogant, disgusted expression snapped me out of my admiration. “I need to speak with Jacob, please.”

“He’s busy. You can talk to me.”

I gritted my teeth but forced my hands to remain relaxed at my sides. “Fine then, Mr….?”

“My name is none of your fucking business.”

I jerked back. “Excuse me?”

He gestured to the drive behind me, his gold watch reflecting the light. “Look, bitch, whatever you’re selling out of your piece of shit car, we ain’t buying.”

“What? No, I’m here about Jacob. I’m not selling anything. He owes me money.”

His pretty upper lip curled in obvious distaste as he scanned me up and down, his eyes lingering on my breasts for a little too long before he sneered. “Let me guess, he knocked you up? You need money for an abortion?”

“I—pardon me?”

His Latin accent thickened as he crossed his muscled forearms over his broad chest, the gold and diamond watch on his wrist catching my attention again with its sparkles. “Whatever bullshit you had in mind coming here, you can forget it now. He’s never gonna be your baby daddy, so I don’t know what strip club or escort service—”

“Escort service! Did you just call me a whore?”

“I see how you’re eyeing my watch, trying to figure out how much money you can get from it. But you can forget that shit, because I would never touch a puta like you.”

My hands clenched down painfully into fists and I took a step forward, crowding him in the doorway and catching a hint of alcohol on his breath. Great, I get to deal with a drunk asshole. Why me? Seriously, what did I do to piss off karma to deserve this?

Gathering myself, I hissed out, “I’m not a stripper, you arrogant fuck. I’m short and I have to wear heels to come even close to looking people in the eye. I’m Jacob’s tutor! Not his ‘baby mama’ or a whore, thank you very much.”

His snort of derision made me see red. “Right, tutor? With those tits? Get back in your car, trailer park Barbie, and drive away, before I make you leave. You’re not the first gold digging stripper to show up claiming he’s the baby’s daddy.”

“I am not a stripper!”

He took out his wallet with a sigh, pulled out a few one hundred dollar bills, then tossed them at me where they fluttered to the ground between our feet. “There, that should cover his lap dances. Now, get the fuck out.”

As I stared at the money laying on the glowing wood floor between our shoes, something inside of me snapped.

I don’t think I’ve been so mad in my entire life. He actually took a step back when I moved into his personal space then grabbed the front of his shirt to keep him from backing up further as I stared up—way up—at him. “I don’t know what kind of messed up, misogynistic world you live in, but a woman’s breast size has nothing to do with the size of her brain. I am not a fucking stripper! I am Jacob’s tutor at ASU, an honor student working on eventually getting my PHD in education. Jacob hasn’t been showing up to his appointments for the last three weeks! He promised me he would be there, and he broke his word. Now, I need to speak to Jacob, and I need to do it right fucking now, or so help me…” I trailed off for a moment, not sure what his name was, then went with my initial pet name, “You arrogant dick, I will make you regret the day you were born.”

“Too late,” he said in a bitter voice, but something in his eyes sparked to life. The sneer curving his rather nice lips softened. Hell, his entire face warmed in a way that made me distinctly uncomfortable. “Do I know you?”

I wanted to look around to see if I was on one of those prank shows with the hidden cameras.

“What?”

His pupils widened as he slowly examined my face, that disconcerting warmth turning to full on heat. “Do I know you? You seem…familiar.”

“Are you high?”

“Excuse me.” A woman’s husky voice came from my left. “I’m Mrs. Roja, and who might you be? And why are you roughing up my nephew?”

I turned to see an older Hispanic woman with long black and grey streaked hair standing at the base of the stairs. Her cheeks were nicely rounded, which should have given her a kind old woman look, but her gaze was pure ice. A flush burned my cheeks as I realized I was still holding onto the arrogant asshole’s shirt, which I quickly released and then smoothed into place. As I did that, I realized the man’s heart was thundering beneath my palm, and that his skin was warm, so warm. Mrs. Roja cleared her throat, and I snatched my hand away from his chest, feeling guilty like I was caught groping him instead of trying to fix the damage I’d done to his pristine look.

“Ah…uh, I’m sorry. My name is Joy Holtz, and I’m Jacob’s math tutor at ASU.” I cleared my throat then licked my lips, trying to gather myself after my temper tantrum. “He hasn’t shown up to his tutoring appointments for the last two weeks, despite his promises to do so. Normally I wouldn’t bother you with this, but I don’t get paid if he doesn’t show up and…well, I need the money for tuition next semester. He’s missed three sessions. I could have used that time to tutor other clients, but each Jacob swears he’ll be there, then he isn’t. I’ve tried to hold him accountable for this, but he’s avoided me at every turn, which left me no alternative but to come here. I’m so sorry for interrupting your day, but this is important. Not just for me, but for Jacob. He’s going to fail out of school, and I’d hate to see that happen to anyone, but he’s going to leave me no choice but to report him to the school.”

Her lips thinned, and I swallowed hard at the anger filling her deep brown eyes. “No, I completely understand. I’m so embarrassed you’ve had to take time from your no doubt busy schedule to come here. I know who you are, Ms. Holtz. You were highly recommended by the Dean of the Education Department. I was hoping you could perform a miracle with Jacob and get his academic affairs in order.”

I couldn’t help but glow a bit about the words of praise from my usually prickly boss. “Thank you, but I’m afraid it’s going to take a miracle for Jacob to pass at this point, unless he really applies himself.”

“Oh,” Mrs. Roja said in an ominous voice that made me faintly alarmed for Jacob, “that won’t be an issue. I’ll be having a talk with my son about responsibility, and I assure you he will be most eager to do whatever you wish. You have my word.”

I let out a mental sigh of relief. “Thank you.”

“Ramón,” she snapped. I darted a glance at the handsome, brooding man now staring at me in a rather disconcerting manner. “Pick up that money. This poor young woman is going to think all the men in this family are ill-mannered animals. Dios, wait until I tell your mother about this.”

I gave Ramón a good glare as he picked up the money he’d thrown at me, then mouthed the word ‘asshole’ at him.

Instead of looking pissed or embarrassed, he smiled at me suddenly in weird way that made the hair on the back of my neck want to stand up. His entire face softened, and I swear his dark eyes were near dancing with laughter. When his gaze dropped to my lips, my stomach filled with a thousand tingling, bursting bubbles. Something…powerful passed between us as he stood and gave me a long, slow look. Before I could protest, he crossed the room and took my hand gently in his own.

The moment our skin touched, a riot of pleasant tingles raced through me. I found my breath picking up. This close, I could smell his sinfully spicy cologne, could admire the perfectly sculpted bow of his upper lip. He had a great mouth, almost pouty, the kind that reminded me of stars from the silent movie era. I bet those lips would feel like velvet against my own. Soft as pillows.

“Please, Joy,” he said in a low voice that seemed to flick my clit. “Accept my apologies. I—well, there is no excuse for the way I treated you. I was an ass. You can smack me if you want. I know if my mother was here, she’d be whacking the back of my head right now for being such a—what did you call me? Ah, yes, an arrogant dick, wasn’t it?”

A few times during this read I had to stop to remind myself that this is a story from the other side of the fence. Not the safe little world we imagine ourselves to live in.

Intense, sexy, scary, and at times downright shocking. Written in a way that even while you disagree with some of what’s happening you understand it.

My Review of Carrie Ann Ryan’s Fractured Silence – Talon Pack Book 5

Fractured Silence
Talon Pack Book 5
By
Carrie Ann Ryan

1cf2a-addtogoodreads

The Talon Pack continues with a dark secret that could shatter the future of the Packs, or save them all.

Parker Jamenson is the son of three Packs, the sole mediator between every Pack in the United States and Europe, and…he’s dying. He knows he doesn’t have much left in him and is in desperate need of a mate. But with the new and unyielding changes thanks to the Moon Goddess, he might not have as much time as he thinks.

Brandon Brentwood is the Omega of the Talon Pack and the youngest of his family. He’s not only one of the famed triplets; he’s also the most secretive. There’s a good reason for that, however, and when a shocking revelation meshes the past and present in a very unexpected way, he’ll look to not only Parker but also a disgraced human to save them all.

Avery Montag knows she’s the daughter of a traitor and doesn’t have much to give the wolves in the way of atonement. But she’ll do everything she can to pay for her father’s sins and find a way to end the war between the humans and the wolves.

When the three turn to each other in a time of unrest and for vastly different reasons, temptation burns and seduction beckons. Only, the past, present, and future are never as solid as they seem, and the path the trio thought to travel may just vanish before they’re ready.

KindleLogo Barnes and Noble logo_150 ibooks-logo-150x150KoboLogo

The opening of this book was quite the surprise as we see Parker ‘The Voice of the Wolves’ in Europe. I never would have seen any of that coming.

As a result of those events, Parker decides he needs to put some distance between himself and his family. Needing to stay close what with war on the horizon, he seeks shelter with the Talon Pack. With the approval of Gideon the Alpha of the Talon pack he makes the move. Only he finds himself roommate to the one wolf that can’t stand him, Brandon.

Brandon has issues not the least of which is he feels the wards, every time they waver he feels excruciating pain. He has been able to hide this from everyone by staying alone and only doing his necessary duties. Another problem is he needs a mate, they learned that an Omega needs to be able to share the feelings they help others with or they can slowly go insane or die.

That said, there is an attraction between Parker and Brandon but since neither has felt the mate pull, they choose to ignore it. Both need mates not just a fling, of course if you isolate yourself finding a mate could be just a bit difficult.

Enter Avery Montag, the daughter of the General who started this war. She watched the whole thing unfold on video and was sickened by it. Now she wants to help the wolves in whatever way she can. She doesn’t have much to offer, but she needs to try.

Now she must wait for the decision of the Alpha’s. This is a favorite scene right after Parker and Brandon leave her.

Parker slid through the wards on his way back into the den, ignoring the pinpricks of sensation along his skin. He ran a hand over the back of his neck. “Something’s wrong.”

“You mean beyond the fact that no matter what we do, the Packs keep facing the unknown?” Brandon asked, a frown on his face. The other man rubbed his side, and Parker held back a frown. He knew Brandon had healed from the gunshot wound, there wasn’t even a scar since their Healer knew what he was doing, but it still had to ache sometimes. He hated that he’d been too slow to help him when it had mattered.

He pushed those thoughts from his head, focusing on what mattered now and not what he couldn’t change. “No, not that. I mean, yeah, that too, but something about what we just left. I can’t place it, but…”

Brandon stopped in his tracks, and Parker did the same, his wolf rising slightly to the surface. “We shouldn’t have left her on her own in the dark.”

Parker looked up at the darkening clouds and cursed. “A storm’s coming in, making it feel later than it is. It wasn’t that bad when we left her…”

“But that was only a few minutes ago, and now it’s worse. Shit.” Brandon turned on his heel. “Let’s just make sure she made it back to her car alone. We shouldn’t have let her leave like that anyway.”

“Because she should be safe,” Parker bit out as he once again slid through the wards. Magic sliced over him, tugging at his wolf. Since he wasn’t a Talon, going through the wards hurt more than if he’d been going through the Redwood’s. Because he was a guest and under the Alpha’s invitation, he could go back and forth without a Talon member at his side, but it still hurt like hell.

“Her car was only like fifty feet away behind the copse of trees,” Brandon muttered. “Still…”

“Still, we shouldn’t have just let her go alone.” Parker shook his head, annoyed with himself for thinking that anyone could be safe anymore. Avery had shown up at the den because of their lack of security, and yet he and Brandon hadn’t made sure she made it to her vehicle safely.

If it weren’t for the fact that his head was in a thousand different places, he might have actually done what he was supposed to do, instead of going half-assed. But between what was going on inside his body, the fact that he was in a new and unfamiliar den yet again, and his weird attraction to not only Brandon but also Avery, it was all a little little too much for him.

As soon as he and Brandon made it completely through the wards, Parker knew something had gone terribly wrong. The two sentries on duty turned, their wolves in their gazes.

“Blood,” the one closest snarled. “It just hit the wind.”

Parker cursed.

“We’re on it. Notify Gideon,” Brandon bit out as he started to run to where Avery had gone off. Parker followed, his wolf reared up fully now.

At that moment, it didn’t matter that he was growing weaker with each passing day. It didn’t matter that something was terribly wrong with his wolf and the blood in his veins. It didn’t even matter that the man by his side—the man who had a chip on his shoulder for some reason—was in a similar boat as Parker regarding health. They each had secrets, each was growing weak for a reason beyond what Parker could comprehend.

But none of it mattered right then.

Not when blood filled the air, and the woman who had been in his charge was in danger.

Everything is now about to change. Not only for Avery but Parker, Brandon and the Packs as well.

So much happens in this book, so many secrets, new revelations, and a battle you won’t soon forget.

My Review of Rhonda Lee Carver’s The Darkest Knight – Knight Brothers Book 3

The Darkest Knight
Knight Brothers Book 3
By
Rhonda Lee Carver

1cf2a-addtogoodreads

Reese Shane’s life was changed forever when she suffered a traumatic head injury while on duty in Iraq. Three years later, she’s left with epileptic seizures along with a service dog that alerts her to oncoming seizures.

Army Ranger Seth Knight, also known as Dark Knight, isn’t a stranger to danger or trauma. A bomb explosion during a covert mission left him scarred physically and, more importantly, emotionally. With no interest in his family’s fortunes and glamorous social revelries, he has secluded himself on the large property his father left him in the Tennessee hills. He likes being alone, but when a fiery spirit shows up on his doorstep, his peace and quiet gets a makeover.

Reese’s work helping injured veterans is jeopardized when Angelina Knight passes away. She had promised to financially back Reese’s project. Now Reese must turn to plan B: Seth Knight. She’s heard the rumors of the recluse in the mountains and isn’t sure how she’ll convince the angry soldier why he should open his secret haven to veterans when he wants nothing to do with her, or her dreams.

Little does she know, but will find out, that the “Dark Knight” has many layers, and badass isn’t the only one.

Seth thinks he’s agreeing to help Reese, but soon he’ll find out that she is the one saving him…

KindleLogo

Seth is haunted by survivors guilt and like many veterans nightmares. He’s locked himself away from everyone, living on the property he and his father had once planned to renovate. His late sister Angelina had updated his cabin there with many modern conveniences making his seclusion far more comfortable than it would have been otherwise.

A veteran with issues not only from PTSD but from her injuries as well, Reese had proposed a project to Angelina not long before she passed away. Without knowing if she had spoken to her brother, Reese started trying to contact Seth. Not receiving a reply she goes all in to confront him.

Now of course Seth makes her work for his commitment but he also has conditions of his own.

This is a favorite scene.

“Angelina had been after me for a long time to do something with this place.”

“And it’s very odd that you haven’t. Maybe you’ve been waiting for something special to come along?” When one brow shot up, she swallowed hard understanding what her words insinuated, which was far from what she intended. Sure, he was attractive in a brute sort of way, but she wasn’t looking to get to know him better unless it came with an attached business deal.

“Do you plan to lead this adventure yourself?” “I thought the two of us would steer the helm. It’s a big project and Angelina had said that you were great with business.”

“Has my late sister given away all my secrets?”

She sighed. Should she be honest? She had a feeling if she wasn’t, he’d see straight through her, and she couldn’t risk coming off as not being transparent. Not when she was asking him to dump a lot of money for the project. “She did say that your heart was broken.”

He dropped his hands into his lap, his shoulders widened as he shook his head and dropped his feet to the floor. “I can’t just give you an answer on this, Ms. Shane—”

“Reese.”

“Okay, Reese. I need time. I have to think about it, run it by my brothers.”

“Oh, I didn’t know they shared in ownership here.”

“They don’t, but we watch each other’s backs, and as good at business as I am, they’re even better. If I agree to this, there must be a safety net so neither one of lose big here, as anyone can in a business deal. There are aspects I need to understand completely before I invest the money. I’d also need a contract drawn up with a stipulation that no matter what happens, whether the business fails, or a personal falling out, that Landing Knight cannot be touched.”

“I’d never—”

He held up a hand. “I’m not saying you would.” He shifted forward. “And you would be considered an employee.”

She blinked. “The project is my idea.”

“Are you investing any money?”

Her shoulders slumped. “No, I’m not.”

“There are rewards to this. You will be on the payroll.”

A small part of her wanted to roll her eyes at his condition, but the other part of her, the one that liked to eat and have shelter, knew this wasn’t something she could turn down. The bigger factor was that he was putting up all the financial backing and he had the business shrewdness that she did not. “Fine.”

“Also, if I agree, and I did say ‘if’, you would need to stay here. The brains of the project must be available. Luckily, the guest cabin is livable.”

“You’re wanting me to stay here? To rent a cabin?”

One corner of his mouth lifted. “No, I want you to live in the cabin as a fringe benefit.”

Again, she was up against the wall. Without the capability of driving or owning a car, she was sort of stuck. “Okay, but you haven’t waited for me to tell you how much.”

He smiled and, yes, just as she’d earlier thought, it was quite amazing. It certainly warmed up his otherwise harsh expression. He became an entirely different man when he talked business. “You see, I can about guess what you’d be asking, but I have my own number in mind, maybe a little more than you would ask. You see, did you figure in a salary for yourself, Ms…Reese?”

She clasped her hands together. “No, I did not. That would be considered a luxury that I didn’t think I could afford.”

“First lesson in business, everyone’s time is worth money. Sell yourself short and everyone else will too.”

She nodded. “Okay.”

“Did you stay in a local hotel last night? Do we need to pick up any of your belongings?”

“I-I’m afraid everything I own is with me. I flew in this morning from Chicago.”

“Just as I thought.” He stood, and she had the urgency to follow, so she did. “The cabin where you’ll be staying is nothing luxurious, but it’s decent. You can stay there. If I agree to go further with this project, it’ll be yours.”

Reese chewed on her bottom lip. “Are you sure?”

“About the cabin?” She nodded. “Yes, I’m sure. Is there a problem?”

“No, not at all.”

“I wouldn’t think so considering you came prepared.” He looked at the suitcase.

“Since I don’t have a car, I’m afraid I have to carry everything with me.”

“Do you have someone who is expecting you to return?”

“No. Those who matter and would be worried, I’ve told them where I am. The list isn’t long.” She cleared her throat, not sure if that answered his question.

“Then I’ll drive you over.” He whistled through his teeth and Spike shot up from the rug, shook out his body, and rushed to the door.

She followed Seth to the red, beat up truck, watched him pull down the tailgate, and he commanded Spike to climb in. Once Seth was behind the steering wheel, the cab seemed a lot smaller. Although Abby sat between him and Reese, she caught a scent of his Irish Spring soap. She liked it. Probably a little too much.
Carver, Rhonda Lee. The Darkest Knight (The KNIGHT Brothers Book 3) (Kindle Locations 501-554). Kindle Edition.

As they get the project rolling, the sexual tension rises.

A story of starting a wonderful project, a friendship and a relationship. All while healing battered souls.

Reese and her service dog won my heart from the start. The battles she fights not only for herself, but her Step for Light Project will win you over too.

I really loved the way this story comes together with plenty of hotness, and a few sniffles.

Imagine waking up one day to the realization that you really aren’t in love with the man you are supposed to marry. That in spite of the fact your job, both your home and your mother’s and your car are all wrapped up with him, you’ve had enough of his demands for perfection. Enough of him making you feel guilty for being you.

That is exactly what happens to Alexa. The confrontation between her and Grant leads to him shoving her out the door to their home, in the rain, as she cuddles her cat. She has no keys, no clothes, nothing but she walks away. Done!

Maverick has been keeping an eye on Alexa ever since she showed up at the Raven Rider’s Clubhouse, bruised and bleeding. He didn’t know the exact cause of her state but had suspicions that she denied. He watched as Alexa walks away in the rain, picks her up and takes her to his home.

A favorite scene takes place once they arrive at his place and is in the excerpt below. Don’t forget to read it.

Now Grant wants her back, but she is having none of it. With Maverick and the Raven Riders behind her, she finds the strength to fight back.

Alexa’s ex steps up his game making this a very emotional and sometimes scary tale since enough money can often buy the people meant to protect.

The heat between Maverick and Alexa is more than just the physical. But Alexa has to come to terms with the past before they can move forward.

In this book Laura takes on not only emotional abuse but hoarding as well. Two psychological issues that are not easily seen and rarely understood.

Be prepared to sit and read until the last page, you won’t want to spend a minute away from this story.

“What am I going to do? My entire life is wrapped up in him. My job. Where I live. My car. Where Mom lives. Everything. Oh, God. This is going to be a nightmare, isn’t it?”

Maverick grasped Alexa’s hands. “One thing at a time. You’re out. You can stay here as long as you need to. I have plenty of room. I’ll help you through it. That’ll give you time to figure out what it is you want. There’s no rush.”

“Okay,” she said. “Okay. God, thank you.” A shiver raced over her skin.

“You don’t have to thank me. I’m so relieved for you that I might fall the fuck over,” he said, his thumb rubbing over her knuckles. She almost managed a little smile. “Your hands are like ice, Al. I shouldn’t have made you stand here all this time when you’re soaking wet.”

Alexa shook her head. “It felt good to get it out, Maverick.”

“Glad to hear it. Would a hot shower make you feel better? I can find you a T-shirt and a pair of boxers to change into while your clothes dry.”

All the TLC and understanding he was giving her reached right inside her chest. When was the last time someone had taken care of her this way?

The last time you were with Maverick. The truth of that thought made her breath catch. “Yeah. I’d like that,” she managed.

He gave a tight nod and stepped back, and she missed his heat immediately. “Uh, good. That’s good. You remember your way around?”

“Of course,” she said. How much time had she spent here over the years? Even before they dated? At one point, Maverick’s place had practically been a second home.

“You okay?” he asked, watching her.

She pushed off the door. “I don’t know yet,” she said, coming to him. “But what I do know is how grateful I am to you. For everything. For being there when I told you not to. For listening. For just . . . being you.”

“Always.” He crossed his big arms and ducked his chin, like something about the exchange made him uncomfortable.

“I mean it,” she said, and then she pressed onto tiptoes and kissed his cheek, his stubble tickling her lips. “You saved me tonight.”

“No,” he said, eyes flashing, one brow arched. “You saved yourself, Al. I was just your getaway driver.”

Staring into one another’s eyes, the tender moment stretched out, morphed, suddenly flashed hot. Being so close to him set her body on fire, and finally she could actually consider acting on it. Need roared through her, a living, breathing thing. “Maverick,” she whispered.

“Fuck, Alexa, I think you better go take that shower,” he said, his jaw ticking. “Now.”

She released a shaky breath and nodded. He was right. Of course, he was.

So, showering. She could handle that. Afterward, God only knew what she was going to do.

Releasing Tomorrow! Ghost Wolf – Wolves of Willow Bend #12 by Heather Long

Releasing Tomorrow!!!

It’s the book you’ve been waiting for!
Don’t miss the stunning conclusion to the Guardians of the Wolves!

Ghost Wolf
Wolves of Willow Bend #12
By
USA Today Bestselling Author
Heather Long

1cf2a-addtogoodreads

Most Lone Wolves have a story—a pack they left behind, a love they lost, or worse, one they buried. Some leave their packs to roam because they crave freedom, and independence. Some leave because in their hearts, they can’t bear to stay. Some leave because they see no way to go back…

Packs attacked. Humans forced to turn. Enforcers murdered.

Julian has been juggling the conflict without a real target for months, they always seem to be just one step behind the Volchitsa and even the wolves they’ve captured can’t tell them enough. With the fate of the packs resting squarely on his shoulders, Julian, the Chief Enforcer, will swallow his pride to seek out the one wolf he knows can help them all, the one who seems to know all the players, who can think like them…if anyone can find the Volchitsa it’s the ghost he’s hunted for decades…

KindleLogo Barnes and Noble logo_150 ibooks-logo-150x150KoboLogo

Oh what a tangled web! This book takes us on a journey through past and present. Written with glimpses of history woven into the lives of Julian and Dallas starting in 1971 and progressing to the present.

Now Julian has always been a bit mysterious, and no one really knows much about him outside his chief enforcer role. This book changes all that and more.

We’ve seen glimpses of Dallas especially where Chrystal is concerned and we’ve seen her with Julian on one memorable occasion. Now a truce needs to be formed and a solution found to the Volchitsa problem, for which it appears Dallas may hold the key.

The pressure is on and this book is one OMG after another. However it is the past that truly engages me. A young Dallas and an enforcer named Julian.

This is a favorite scene early in the book.

Dropping onto the chair next to her, he flipped open the cooler. A half dozen bottles were inside, tucked into a bed of ice. “Expecting company?”

“I expected you a week ago,” she answered, then tilted her bottle up for another drink. “What kept you?”

Amused, even though he should be livid, Julian pulled a beer out and opened it. “You relocated without notifying me.” If she had notified him, there would have been a message with the service. “You had the number you were required to call.”

A smile curved her lips, and he could imagine her throaty chuckle though she didn’t make a sound.

“But you didn’t call it,” he said, popping the cap off and tossing it into the bin just inside the door. “I check my messages daily.”

“You are so very responsible.” Dallas shrugged.

“You like having that power—where are we? What are we doing? Did we ask if we could have dessert before dinner?”

“You’re not a child, Dallas.” He lifted his bottle, then tapped hers when she met him halfway. “Don’t act like one.”

“Did I touch a nerve?” The invitation to play curled within her tone.

As delightful an offer as she was making, he couldn’t accept. “When you relocate, you call it in. Whether it’s a state, a beach, or a block away—you call. You provide the address and the date you intend to move. It’s not about control.”

“Bullshit,” she replied without an ounce of rancor. “It’s all about control. I’m alone. I answer to no one…except you, of course. I’m to answer to you, because you want to put a leash on me and snap tight to my collar.”

Laughter rumbling in his chest, Julian shook his head. “Woman, I wouldn’t dare put a leash on you. You’d chew through my arm.”

“And don’t you forget it.” She sat forward and swung around to face him. Her bare legs slid against his denim covered ones. “So can we stop pretending that you’re only checking in on me for duty?”
Heather Long. Ghost Wolf (Kindle Locations 902-917). Heather Long. Kindle Edition.

I expected this book to be hot in more ways than one and trust me it surpasses all expectations. There is shock and surprise as Julian and Dallas spar verbally and physically.

Truths beyond games, a trial, an Alpha Conclave and more send this book to the top of my all time favorites.

My Review of Rebecca Royce’s Fragility Unearthed – Cascade Series Book 3

Fragility Unearthed
Cascade Series Book 3
By
Rebecca Royce

1cf2a-addtogoodreads

Malcolm is missing. Levi is taken. And all the light from the world has gone with them.

Kendall Malcolm thought the world ended when her marriage ended and her life fell apart. She was wrong. Things could be a lot darker. She stands at the precipice—leader, mother, warrior—placing herself between the world and darkness.

But does she have to do it alone? It’s looking that way.

KindleLogo Barnes and Noble logo_150 ibooks-logo-150x150KoboLogo

So much happens in this book, Malcolm and Chase find Troy and go to see if they can enlist his help. Meanwhile Levi is taken by ‘Top Hat’ and almost dies in the process. He is left however with an inability to tell them what he’s done.

They can’t find Malcolm or Chase and Mary keeps showing up when Victoria and Kendall are in the same room. She’s shouting but they can’t understand what she’s saying.

This is a favorite scene, as an emotional Kendall goes to clear a house of ghosts.

The door was unlocked, as promised, and I walked right in, flicking on the light. Not that I needed the illumination. I could see the ghosts as much in the dark as I could in the light.

Normal people didn’t stalk around in dark houses. Small gestures toward not becoming totally antisocial …

If I’d even momentarily forgotten about the Cascade, I would have remembered the second I walked into the house. What would I have told Malcolm about this job? Well, it was a busy ghost house. Were there always that many ghosts or had they shown up simply to deal with me?

I maneuvered through them. Some of them darted toward me; others scurried out of my way. I counted and stopped when I got upstairs and had reached fifty. Anything over fifty was all the same to me.

Not too long ago, I’d watched Grayson clear a ghost Malcolm had been carting around for years—the ghost of the man who killed us—doing a strange movement with his arms. It had been amusing. Still, it had started me thinking—maybe there was a more efficient way to manage things in here. Or maybe I could just amuse myself trying.

Malcolm dragged ghosts around with him. I could make them do things too. No one waited for me at home. I could take as long as I wanted giving this a try.

I waved my hand and could feel it burn as I took all the ghosts in the room under my control. There were ten there for me to play with. I itched to send them on.

Instead, I spun them in a circle. Centrifugal motion would be my best friend. “Look at you, look at all of you. I can make you dance.”

I tipped my finger and they danced up and down. “Oh, look at you. Like my own puppets.”

Imitating Grayson’s movements I ended up spinning the ghosts again until they were a ghostly tornado in the room. Over and over they spun while I watched. It transfixed me, and I couldn’t look away.

I had done this. I could make them do whatever the hell I wanted whenever I wanted it.

A boom sounded in the house. All of my ghosts were ripped from fingers, my hand tingling as they were ripped away. I jolted. Who had done that? Who had taken my ghosts? Malcolm? I whirled around and stopped in my tracks.
Standing in front of me was a person I had not seen since I I’d come back to life at twelve years old. Ross Taylor—one of our missing teammates.

Ross stood close to six feet five inches. He dwarfed me and even made Malcolm look small. Out of all of us, Ross had always been the most strikingly handsome. He had dark skin, a muscular body to match his height, brown, almost black eyes, and his head shaven to where he appeared bald. He wore a white collared shirt which accentuated the dark umber of his skin. He paired the white short sleeved top with a pair of blue jeans and brown boots which poked out of his jeans.

I swallowed before I could speak. He was powerful. Hugely, so. He could clear ghosts, and yet his psychic ability dwarfed that talent. If Dex and my mother could “see” things, Ross experienced them as though he lived the moment. Chase had tried to locate him, complicated by the fact that like Chelsea, Mary John, Chase and myself, Ross had chosen to not remember his life with the Others. Yet, here he stood.

“Tell me you’re not a sicko now, Kendall. Tormenting the ghosts?”  He raised his eyebrows.

His words undid me. He was right. I had been fucking with the ghosts in completely inappropriate ways. They’d been alive once. Living, breathing, sentient creatures. It was my privilege to send them on. My honor, my duty. I had no business being callous.
Royce, Rebecca. Fragility Unearthed (The Cascade Book 3) (Kindle Locations 1056-1091). After Glows. Kindle Edition.

Ross is a welcome addition and Peter and Logan show up too.

Just when things appear to settle a bit, all hell breaks loose again.

Many surprises in this one, I laughed, held my breath more than once, and cried a few times as well. I am very glad the next book is coming out in May.

As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. I live in Austin Texas where I am determined to eat all the barbecue in town.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I’ve been told I’m a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

I’d love to hear from you!

Winning never felt so much like losing. The team has recovered Corkscrew, but she is lost to insanity. Simon, the most cautious of them all, must risk everything to bring her back from the brink, but losing this gambit could cost them Simon as well.

KindleLogo Barnes and Noble logo_150 ibooks-logo-150x150KoboLogo

Amanda has a lot of anger and power she cannot control right now. Even after being rescued she doesn’t know who is friend and who is foe. Only Rory can settle her.

With the team out she wakens, causing much damage. Alone with Ilsa, Simon has to make a decision. After he knocks her out and cleans the mess he waits for the team to return before doing what he knows has to be done.

“We’ve attempted to wake you up, but you panic and react. You almost blew up the medlab a little while ago. Ilsa tried to keep you in a medically induced coma, but that doesn’t appear to be an option with your metabolism. Waking you has some inherent dangers, and we don’t know the full impact of the mental impairments. I can help you wake up and buffet you—”

“How?” She dug her nails into her palms.

“Telepathy is just a label for what I can do. Are you familiar with any types of psionics?”

“No.” She shook her head. “I am still not convinced you’re not some delusion or trick being played on me by my captors.” Fear coalesced in her gut. Images flashed through her mind. Men in scrubs and face masks looming over her. A drilling noise. The smell of smoke. Bright lights over her head. She ran her fingers through her hair, searching for— what?

“Unfortunately, I can offer you no other proof than waking you up. But, if I do that, you have to fight to stay cognizant of what is happening, where you are, and not just lash out. There are others in the house— others you can gravely injure, not to mention yourself.”

Amanda licked her lips. “And if I say no?”

“Then you will leave me with few alternatives. You are very dangerous in your current state, and it will break Rory’s heart if you die.”

Her heart thudded against her ribs, a painful reminder. “I don’t know if I can.”

“Trust me. I won’t let you fall.” How compelling was this man, that she wanted to believe him even if she didn’t know him. That alien-familiar sensation tugged at her insides. “Amanda, it’s very simple.” He rose to his feet in one graceful surge and extended his hand to her. “Live or die. Your choice.”

She stared at his hand.

“What the hell…” Her fingers glided across his palm, and he closed his hand around hers. Electricity surged through her, and the shattered landscape clicked together like some mad game of Tetris, solidifying around her. The stars faded, the sky turned blue, and grass filled in all the gaping holes between the crumbling rocks. They floated upwards and she sat up abruptly. The cold air tasted of ozone and frost and burned her lungs.

Simon sat next to her, holding her hands. His blue eyes opened. He looked a hell of a lot better in person than in her head. A chiseled jaw, a hint of a dimple and the blond hair was like pale flax, perfect against his warmer skin. The hospital room wasn’t familiar, but it seemed normal if one ignored the scorch marks on the walls and the buckled and twisted door frame. Sitting up slowly, she looked down at their joined hands and her too skinny wrists. Instead of the skimpy dress, she wore an open backed hospital gown. Her tan was gone from her legs— all faded and pale. She curled her knees and pulled her legs closer.

God, she needed to shave them.

Swallowing took effort, like she couldn’t quite remember how to tell her muscles to do it.

“Hello there.” The warm-whiskey-on-a-cold-winter’s-night voice tingled through her. Delicate flutters shivered over her skin.

Moistening her lips, she took a deep breath. “Applesauce.”

Her eyes widened. Okay, now I’m freaking out.
Long, Heather. Deadly Genesis (Boomers Book 2) (Kindle Locations 225-250). Heather Long. Kindle Edition.

With Simon in her head, Amanda can be awake and in control. Without him not so much, he also needs to translate for her since her spoken words aren’t matching her thoughts. Fortunately she gets comfortable with him there.

They still need to find Ronan, and a meeting is called so the guys can learn what ‘the Program’, where Rory’s team met, was all about.

Joss and Curtis tell Rory the facility in Russia was abandoned and there was no sign of Ronan. The question remains, where are they holding him?

Amanda has a lot of healing to do and the only way to accomplish that is for Simon to do a deep purge to help her regain her memories.

What they discover leads to the revelations of lies and betrayals. Discoveries that come too late to avoid some disasters, but also lead to the recovery of Ronan.

Just about every page reveals pertinent information and peels layers of information off the mystery. With laughter, tears, love and a whole lot more.

Heather Long   Heather Long

National bestselling author, Heather Long, likes long walks in the park, science fiction, superheroes, Marines, and men who aren’t douche bags. Her books are filled with heroes and heroines tangled in romance as hot as Texas in the summertime.

From paranormal historical westerns to contemporary military romance, Heather might switch genres, but one thing is true in all of her stories–her characters drive the books.

When she’s not wrangling her menagerie of animals, she devotes her time to family and friends she considers family. She believes if you like your heroes so real you could lick the grit off their chest, and your heroines so likable, you’re sure you’ve been friends with women just like them, you’ll enjoy her worlds as much as she does.

A New Series from Lisa Renee Jones: Provocative – White Lies – Book 1

Provocative
White Lies Book 1
By
Lisa Renee Jones

1cf2a-addtogoodreads

There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us.

The moment I walked into Sonoma’s Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not.

Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have. Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesn’t change why I came for.

KindleLogoibooks-logo-150x150

Once again Lisa Renee Jones weaves a tale so enthralling you can’t stop reading.

Even as Nick saves Faith from a couple of hired bank collectors, he knows something else is up. His motives aren’t pure by a long shot and but his attraction to her is undeniable and addictive.

Faith put her art career on hold to manage the family winery that her mother seemed determined to destroy. With her mother’s unexpected death the winery and all it’s issues is hers. Meeting Nick could be a blessing or a curse as she enters a relationship she is afraid will change everything.

We see Chris and Sara from the Inside Out Series and Faith’s art career gets a boost at a charity event at his godparents winery.

Now not everything gets answered in this book, but it won’t leave you unsatisfied.

A slow build up, full of suspense, hot sex, and lies of omission. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this tale, coming soon.

As Diana makes her way to the ship to join her family at their secret hideaway. She thinks she sees a familiar face. Now this is nothing new to her as she thinks she sees her husbands all the time. This time however it is different.

Oh how I sniffled, this is a favorite scene.

It was … him. It … was Damian.

How was he here? My heart rate kicked up till it pounded so loudly it drowned out all other sounds. I ran. I couldn’t speak, couldn’t call his name. My boots struck loudly on the floor with every move I made. I slammed into someone, couldn’t even apologize, and grabbed Damian’s arm.

He whirled around, facing me. Recognition flooded his expression. I knew this man— love, wonder, awe, disbelief— they all played in his gaze until utter joy took their place. “Di-Diana.” His voice shook, and then his arms were around me.

“Diana.” He said again, tugging me close, so tightly I could hardly breathe. “We thought… when we docked today, everyone was leaving. We thought you were gone. Judge was working on some plans … but I told them I had to give it a last look. You’re here. You’re here.

I breathed him in. He smelled … right. One of my guys. My love. Two years without him and we’d almost missed each other. “Damian. Damian. Damian.” I kept saying his name, almost unable to utter anything else. There were things … I had to think, I had to say. “I’d just thought— literally seconds ago— that I’d never see you again, not ever.” A sob threatened, and I shoved it away. I had to think, I had to make myself function through the most elation I’d ever experienced. “We-we have to get out of here now. It’s not safe. Where are the others? I don’t know what to do. I think I’m in shock.”

He nodded, his eyes narrowing. “The others are on Artemis. Come on. I’ve got you, Diana. I’ve got you.”

I grabbed my communicator and sent my mom a message. It was brief, unclear, but I hoped she got the gist that I had found one of my husbands and was getting on Artemis. I’d meet her on the planet. Or maybe I said nothing coherent. I didn’t know. Things were somehow both fast and slow; had the Station tilted?

Damian took my hand. His strong fingers held me tight, anchored me when things spun around us. “How did you get here?” I shouted to be heard over the crowd.

“Later.” He yelled back. “I-I can’t think. If you’re not safe, I’ll get you safe. Please.”

His words told me that I wasn’t alone in my brain shutting down to basic functions. Would it come back? I really didn’t know. I never could deny his please. We walked for what felt like forever but eventually made into the docking station. Artemis was three-quarters of the way down. Like they suddenly popped into existence, Sterling and Cash were talking outside of the ship, and I could hardly trust my own eyes. There they were. They were … there. I…

Sterling saw me first, or maybe he heard my heartbeat— I didn’t know which. He leapt into a run and had his arms around me in seconds. I hung on. What was he saying? Sorry? What was he sorry for? I pressed my forehead to his chest. His heart beat and beat and beat. I could hear it. Didn’t that make it real? And then I was being passed into Cash’s waiting hug. He said some things too. Love. Yes, I loved him, too. But I couldn’t think.

“Cash.” I touched his face. He felt real, not a hallucination.

I’d dreamed this moment a million times. I wanted to be in it. I shook my head. Why couldn’t I focus?

Lewis and Judge were suddenly there too. They were all hugging me, all touching me. There was so much noise.

I breathed out. “Hi.”

“She’s going to faint.” Lewis’ voice pushed through. “Let’s give her some air.” His arm was around my waist. “Come inside. Sit down. Someone go get her water.”

I was soon on one of the couches from Orion. It didn’t belong on Artemis. It was supposed to be on the other side of the universe. But then again, so were my husbands. They must have brought furniture onto Artemis. Strange, small details made their way into my mind while large, important things couldn’t get through. A blanket was around me, water in my hand, and they were all snuggled near me, either on the couch or the floor next to it.

I held out my hand. “We have to get off this station. I need to think. I keep saying that because it’s true. Um, I’m so happy you’re here. You can’t know.” My voice shook.

“I…”

Sterling kissed my cheek. He sat to my left. I leaned on Cash, who stroked my arm. Damian was right in front of me, kneeling down. Lewis and Judge were each touching my knees. They were so beautiful.

“Where do you want to go?” Sterling kissed my cheek again. “I’ll put in the coordinates.”

I had them memorized. My mother had insisted. Either I told him or Sterling had learned to read minds. He disappeared into the cockpit, likely to enter the designated coordinates and get us launched. Lewis took his place.
Rebecca Royce. Reclaiming Their Love (Kindle Locations 139-183). After Glows Publishing.

So begins a race across space, a race to be safe. Away from Mars Station and Sandler.

A sexy and hot reunion, as they learn each other again. Fun with family and more stress as yet more threats make themselves known.

A wonderful conclusion for Diana’s story, but I know there are more books ahead in this world of Artemis.

Rebecca Royce Rebecca Royce
