Revenge came at a heavy price.

Valkyrie hacker Amber Brown is deadly in her own right, but her preferred weapon is a keyboard. So after her teammates left her for dead, she took her revenge the way she was trained to—swiftly and brutally. Except one of her targets might be innocent. To right that wrong, Amber vows to rescue the at-risk Valkyrie no matter the cost, and this time she’s working alone. So when a sexy stranger shows up in the middle of a firefight and announces he’s been sent by her sister, it’s going to take a whole lot more than his word to make her trust him.

Chasing redemption may prove deadly.

Elite gun for hire Jesse Cordova lives on the edge of the law. When a new job offer sets off warning bells, he digs deeper and finds the startling truth. The woman he’s been tasked with capturing is a secret government assassin, and Amber Brown is unlike any target he’s gone after before. But bringing her in opens them up to a whole new level of danger, pitting them against one of the most ruthless assassins in the world. Now that the sexy Valkyrie has stolen his heart, Jesse will risk everything to see their mission through—knowing that the only way this ends is with one of them dying.

At the end of the last book, Amber had discovered the possible location of Hannah a Valkyrie that she had turned information over to enemies in retaliation for being ambushed. At the time she believed Hannah to be a traitor and she felt justified in what she did. Now with other Valkyries she finds that may not have been the truth. She’s determined to rescue Hannah so the truth about that last mission can be discovered.

Jesse is an assassin, he’s found a job on the dark web that would set him up to retire. However there is something off about the deal, so he contacts an old friend, Bautista. It happens that Bautista is married to Georgia, one of the original Valkyries and Jesse’s plan change from doing the job to backing up Amber and then capturing the one who put out the hit.

Fast paced and intriguing as Jesse gets Amber out of more than one hot spot, and in the process rescue another Valkyrie. Without doing much of anything Amber has snuck her way into Jesse’s heart and he knows he wants a relationship with her. Amber on the other hand is confused. She has feelings for the assassin, but she’s never been able to commit to anything because of her job.

We see all the other Valkyries, Rycroft and Marcus in this one, as plans go forward. We also get to see more of Megan and Tyler’s relationship as her sister Amber gets more involved with Jesse. For Amber the success of this mission will decide her fate in more ways than one.

I love the way this story is unfolding, the Valkyries are awesome women, and the men that have so far won their hearts are no less spectacular.

I really can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
