Her destiny is etched in his skin…and carved in her heart.
Morgan Stills is a woman without a future. At least, that’s what the carnival psychic tells her. Love is foretold as well, but too bad. She’s already been marked for death.
She no sooner flees the psychic’s tent when she’s confronted by the biggest wolf she’s ever seen. A wolf that talks to her—right before she’s enveloped in a black cloak and dragged away.
Caleb was born for one purpose: follow the burning of his tattoo to find and protect his destined mate, the Huntress. When he rescues her from Lazarus, the king of beasts, what thanks does he get? A swift kick in his tender parts that leaves him writhing in a ball of pain.
Morgan quickly realizes her destiny lies with the Order of the Wolf. The only catch—she must choose between two sworn enemies who vie for her body, heart, and soul. Marked as a Huntress, thrust into an ancient feud between werewolf and Hunter, she must pick up a sword or die. And somehow learn to live without the man she is destined to kill.
Warning: Be prepared for fiery hot, melt-your-panties men, all muscle and sinew, searching for their one true mate. Committed, hot, and horny. What could be better?

My Review:
I love when a book takes off running and doesn’t stop. This is very true here from the moment Morgan steps out of the psychic’s tent into the chaos of people running in fear. This is also one of my favorite scenes in the book.
I was shocked even more when the creature moved toward me with a grace that suggested it walked on its hind legs regularly. I choked on a hysterical kind of giggle. This had to be some kind of prank, a trained animal that the carnival owned. Maybe the wolf had escaped from its cage. My heart thudded painfully as I prayed some trainer would come and call his pet off.
Beware of the beast. He comes for you.
It moved closer, its fangs flashing in a silent growl. I forced myself to swallow the lump in my throat, struggling not to sob, not to beg for my life, all thoughts of laughing gone. I knew that there was no trainer. I knew that no one would come to my rescue. I slid my eyes closed, unable to face the hideous monster glaring down at me.
I felt its horridly hot breath against my skin, smelled the rancid scent of decaying meat caught in its teeth, could almost feel its tongue upon my flesh as it licked its snout again and again.
For once, a psychic was right. I’m going to die.
“You are mine.”
Huh? My eyes flew open as disbelief and confusion rushed through me. The beast stood looking down at me, its eyes showing that same intelligence I’d had a fleeting glimpse of moments before. Human intelligence.
Holy shit!
“You are mine,” the wolf repeated, its garbled words almost unintelligible, slurring like a drunk as he sprayed my face with spittle. “You are my bride.” He gave a rough laugh, almost like a bark. “I will claim you.”
My already racing heart kicked into a frenzy, fight or flight instinct making my knees wobble. What the eff? I struggled to speak, to untangle my tongue ad make some sense of the situation. Talking wolves. Wolves that stood on two legs, walked and talked.
“I must be dreaming,” I murmured, dizzy all of a sudden. My vision wavered. This had
to be a dream. I was probably still in Fiona’s tent, dead asleep.
“No dream, Morgan.”
I startled violently at the use of my name, and snapped out of my frozen state. I took a stumbling step back only to have the beast follow me once more. “Oh god.”
“No escape.” He growled. “You are mine.”
The action and suspense continues from here. There is no putting the book down, not for anything. Caleb has to bond with his huntress and his huntress isn’t sure what she wants but knows it’s more than what Caleb is offering. Lance, Caleb’s second in command begins Morgan’s training and becomes a good friend to her.
There are many twists and turns and quite frankly I would have sucker punched Caleb a few times as well as smacked him upside his head. The boy really needed to get it together and Morgan, bless her heart wasn’t helping any…
I must say that this is the first time my favorite character in a book hasn’t been one of the main ones. I totally fell for Lance and want him to find his huntress. He deserves some real happiness.
I really loved this book, the battles were vicious and the sex was hot and the intrigue right around the corner.
5 Contented purrs for this book. I cannot wait to see what Angela Addams comes up with in the next book!
Excerpt:
As the sun slowly rose, Lance turned the truck off the highway and onto a gravel road. “We’re home,” he sang, startling both Ken and Caleb from their sleep.
Caleb grunted as he brought his head forward, his grip still tight around my waist. He tilted his face to my hair, inhaling deeply once again. It made me feel…owned…and not in a bad way. I shook my head, trying to get my senses back on line when home appeared around a final bend in the road. My eyes wide with awe, I took in the massive—more than massive— colossal century home that stood before me. It was a beautiful old redbrick mansion, lined with large windows, a wraparound porch and at least two wings.
“Holy shit!” I gasped.
“Morgan, this is Wolves’ Bane, home of The Order of the Wolf.” Caleb’s voice was gruff from his sleep. “While you are on the property, you don’t have to wear the cloak. You’re protected here. The perimeter is enchanted. The wolves can’t get past the barrier.”
I nodded as the word enchanted echoed in my mind. I was still too speechless at the grandeur of Wolves’ Bane to utter a sound. This was all too surreal to process.
Lance pulled the truck to a stop in front of the house. “She didn’t sleep the entire drive up,” he said, presumably to Caleb. “You should take her to her room so that she can get some rest.”
Feeling like I had just been ratted out, I flashed a dirty look at Lance, glaring at him in the rearview mirror. He smiled widely at me before giving a teasing wink. I decided I kinda liked him—a brother I never had.
His expression crashed a moment later when Caleb growled at him.
“Well, I wouldn’t have wanted to sleep either with some giant pawing at me,” Lance muttered loud enough for everyone to hear.
My mouth gaped and I could feel a burning blush wash over my entire face. Maybe I didn’t like him after all.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Caleb barked.
Lance winked at me again but didn’t bother answering Caleb. Instead, he and Ken shared a knowing look, then the two of them hopped out of the truck and quickly disappeared into the house.
Caleb shifted behind me and opened his own door, pulling me across the seat and out to stand next to the truck. He placed his hands on my shoulders and stared down at me, a gentle touch to my chin forcing me to look up at him. His face was still lined with exhaustion, his jaw painted with dark stubble. “What was Lance talking about?”
I felt my blush grow deeper. “Ah, nothing.” I bit my bottom lip and cringed, knowing by his expression that my answer was not going to cut it. I blew out a long breath. “You kind of, well, in your sleep, you sort of touched me a little. You know, a little cupping action.”
Caleb groaned and rolled his head back to stare straight up. When he brought his head back down, his expression was conflicted, guilt warring with… “It’s inexcusable. I’m sorry.”
I frowned. “It’s okay. No harm, no foul.”
Caleb’s expression changed in an instant, his eyes hooded as he moved his head closer to mine. “Really? You’re not angry?”
I swallowed, a wave of arousal washing over me. “Nope.” I shook my head and slid my eyes down to gaze at his lips. Nope, didn’t mind it one bit.
He moved even closer, his hand trailing from my shoulder to my waist. “No?” He pressed my body against his, and I could feel the hard bulge of his erection prodding me through his black army fatigues.
Oh, wow!
I tilted my head up, my lips almost touching his, then closed my eyes and waited for him to kiss me.
“Cal? Are you two coming in or what? The girl needs some sleep, man,” Lance shouted, his tone teasing.
“Shit,” Caleb grunted as he jerked away, leaving my heart fluttering and my body quivering. “I guess we’d better get inside.”
I released the breath I’d been holding and opened my eyes. Caleb was already darting around me to retrieve my duffle bag from the back of the truck. Another close call. I slumped my shoulders in defeat. How did he do it? My lusty excitement deflated as I followed him into the house, determined to keep my thoughts in check and my gaze off his ass.
