This! This is a book I have to read. Fran is not a youngster, and neither is Bear. Unfortunately Fran’s son is his friend and Alfa Pi brother. She is off limits. I wouldn’t want to be him when he sees her in her new clothes, he can’t keep his eyes off her in her track suits. I believe I have to add not one, but two series to my TBR Pile. This one is book three in the Alfa PI series but Bear is introduced in Throttle Me of the Men of Inked series.

I confess I haven’t read these books but the pain, heartbreak and love that I feel in this epilogue definitely sends me to purchase them.

Who doesn’t love a football star and a Princess story? I am a big football fan and have been for most of my life. As such I had some problems with the scoring as described. First there was reference to a one point field goal lead. Field goals are 3 points. As the game is described there were 2 touchdowns for the Knights. If both include good extra point kicks that would be 14 points. A single point lead with that would either be a 2 point conversion on one of the touchdowns instead of the kick for 1, or a safety.

My next issue was the quarterback getting credit for the touchdowns. A Quarterback gets the win and credit for completed passes, not the touchdowns themselves unless the receiver is in the end zone or a quarterback sneak or he runs it in himself.

The Bootleggers won with a score of 23, and had 3 touchdowns. That’s 21 with all the extra point kicks. So either they did two 2 point conversions or they missed the extra point on one and got a field goal to make that score.

You are probably wondering why I bring this up when it’s a romance novel. That’s simple really, it threw me out of the story trying to figure out the logic of the scoring.

Since Bella is a major football fan and Kyle is a first string Quarterback, I would expect the story to reflect accurate information.

As much as I like the concept, it isn’t for me unless things are more accurately depicted.

My Review

 

 This book was a gift from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

 

Jude, Jayden and Jace Sinclair are taking a much needed vacation in Florida.  Jude will soon be heading to LA to join the Kings and Jayden and Jace will be back in Bellevue to attend hockey camp before classes start.

 

Hockey player Baylor Moore takes a much need break from training to go to Florida with her two best friends. Mandy and Delanie are her opposites and she always has fun with them.

 

When Delanie sets her eyes on a guy who has just been thrown in the ocean by two others, things are about to change.  Mandy is engaged and has no interest in hooking up with anyone and honestly Baylor has no real interest other than having some fun, which in her mind doesn’t included sex.

 

Invited to a party at the guy’s condo, they are asked to arrive early to hang out for a bit. They arrive to find them playing street hockey and of course Baylor wants in. Jayden gets her skates and socks and the games begin.  This passage is a favorite and is just a taste of the game.

 

Skating back a bit, her tongue comes out, wetting her lips as she nods her head. I’m completely in a trance, watching as her arms flex as she plays with the stick, her eyes still locked with mine.  “So I have to watch out for you then?”
“Maybe,” I say with a wink.
She perks her lips out, and hot damn, I can’t help but think she’s gonna kiss me as she comes toward me.  She has the look in her eyes.  The one that can cause damage, but instead, she takes the puck, going around me like a fucking pro and shoots the puck hitting the pipe smack-dab in the middle.
Speechless, I look from the net to the pink line where she is fucking standing and then meet her gaze.  She stands there like it’s no big fucking deal that she just scored from our pseudo blue line.  Did that just fucking happen?
“Wait, what just happened?” Jude asks, pointing from the net to her.
“I think she just fucking scored,” Jace says, his face full of shock like mine. “From the line.”

 

The party ends for them on a very bad note and figuring she’d never see him again she returns home to continue working toward her goal of being the first woman in the NHL.

 

But life loves to interfere with one’s immediate plans.  Baylor’s dad and coach informs her they are moving again to outside of Nashville.  He is going to be the coach of the Bellevue Bullies, Jayden’s team.

 

The dynamic between Jayden and Baylor is explosive and the story will have you turning the pages to see what will happen next. I couldn’t put it down. So definitely put it on your MUST READ list!

Jude Sinclair here, hockey player for the Bellevue Bullies and lover of all ladies. Hockey’s in my blood and, not to sound full of myself, but I’m good at it… really good.
