My Review:
I started this series in the middle somewhere, and I really cannot get enough.  I now own, I think, the entire series and I have to go back and read them in order.

I loved this book the emotional exchange between Maddox and Ellie is palpable as is the love they have for each other and their adopted daughter, Charlotte.

In this book they are faced with different emotions brought forth by outside influences.  First in trying to help a couple with the loss of their son, and later with the fear that their daughter had been kidnapped.  The way they share through the mate bond shows how strong they can be when they help each other deal with the outside emotions.

A favorite passage:

“No one is in trouble.  Well, you’re going to be grounded a bit,” Maddox said, and Charlotte wiggled between them.

“Grounded?”

Ellie met Maddox’s gaze and nodded.  “Yes, baby, grounded.  You can’t leave without telling an adult.  A lot of people who might have been needed elsewhere were taken off their shifts to help find you.  That’s not saying it wasn’t worth it because you know all of us would do it again to make sure you were safe.”

“How grounded?”

“No TV or cookies for two weeks,” Maddox answered.  “You can play with your cousins because you’re a wolf and you need the pup play, but only at our house during that time.”

I cannot wait for the next book in this series.  I know Carrie Ann has been hinting at the next one, so hopefully it won’t be too long a wait.

Once again Carrie Ann Ryan has earned 5 contented purrs from me!

My Review:

Miguel “Smoke” Santos, Master of Arms for the Iron Horse MC of Austin, TX, is one of the hottest characters I have read in a while.  He exudes sexuality and a protectiveness that makes me want to curl up next to him, the way Swan does.

I loved the way he can calm her with a touch and as this relationship evolves the chemistry had me panting even when they were just talking.

One of my favorite quotes is during Swan’s first meeting with Beach, the club’s President and her sister Sarah’s fiancé.

He sat back in his chair and watched me.  “You know where Sarah is?”

“Fuck no.  If I find that bitch I’m going to rip her ovaries out and strangle her with them.”

As Swan becomes acclimated to the ways of the MC and her steaming hot relationship with Smoke, the heat goes up on finding both Sarah and her mother.

As a last resort, Swan and Smoke approach her father for assistance finding them and getting this all sorted out before someone turns up dead.

Damn you Ann, a cliffhanger?! Now I have to wait for the next book…hoping it’s not too long a wait!

June was a Bust!

Due to circumstances beyond my control, all of the posts I had planned for the beginning of June never made it into the blog.  I am unable to access the computer with the details of those dates at this time but as soon as I can I will post those reviews and do the appropriate spotlights.

In the meantime I have been reading a lot of new books so over the next few days I will be doing some reviews to get back into the swing of things.
